How can this connecting rod support such a heavy dumbbell set?

I asked a similar question and the seller said that When you assemble the parts together to use as a barbell, make sure that the dumbbell bar embedded in the connecting rod is longer than 7 cm. And when you lift the bar, hold the sides of the dumbbell bar, not the middle of connecting rod. If you hold the connecting rod in the middle, the connecting rod is easily broken due to uneven force.This is very useful.

14'' It is not too large but once you add it to the weights it is long enough to do the majority of workout.

Can the dumbbell bar support a weight greater than 20lbs?

It's complete garbage don't waste your money it's plastic and will break.. I had to go out and buy my son another bar made out of metal cause their cheap plastic bar broke
