A great read
I’m new to this author and so pleased to have discovered her. A well told story that moves along effortlessly. I loved the humour and the main characters were easy to invest in. I’m looking forward to Book 2.

Fun and enjoyable read
This was a really good cozy read. It's set in what sounds like a fantastic location and it's a light and funny read. I loved the character of Jodie a.k.a. Nosey, and the other characters surrounding her. She's tenacious, funny and just someone that I would totally get on with in real life. The plot was also terrific and I already have the next couple lined up to read soon.

An enjoyable murder mystery
I picked this book up at the beginning of the year when Amazon were giving it away for free. I don't usually read murder mysteries, fantasy is my go-to genre, but this seemed like a nice easy page-turner to give me a break from the sometimes challenging read that fantasy books provide. I had been eyeing up Richard Osmans murder mystery series after it got such good reviews and seeing this series was compared to it (and it was free!) made me download it.It sat on my Kindle unread until last week because I was busy finishing of A Song of Ice and Fire. Rather coincindentally, I finished my fantasy book on the last day of my holiday in Cornwall (the first time I'd been for about 25 years!) so I ended up starting The Cornish Wedding Murder in Cornwall. I read quite a lot of it on the journey home and it only took a couple more days to finish it off.The murder was a mystery until the very end, I had no idea who it was although maybe the sleuths more familiar with this genre might have guessed it. The humour is brilliant, a little bit cheeky so maybe not ideal for people that are prudish. The characters are all well-written, I immediately warmed to Jodie and her Gimpmobile.'Cozy mystery' is an apt description, you can really just switch your brain off and keep flicking through. The only thing I found a bit odd was there was a lot of chapters so they were very short, which is great if you want a nice place to stop but often it felt like there was no need for a new chapter to begin because it carried on exactly where the previous chapter ended. It was almost like the author was trying to make the chapters a consistent length. Not a big deal really.Overall it was a nice change of pace for me. I've always started on the second book and picked up a couple of the others because they were down to 99p each, but even at full price, if they're anything like this first one, they would be well worth it.

A good, quick read - light hearted and amusing
Having moved to North Cornwall a year ago, I enjoyed the novel being set locally. It flowed very well and was easy to keep track of all the characters. It keeps you guessing whodunit to the very end.

Cracking Cornish culinary crime caper.
This is a very readable book. It draws the reader in from the start and is a veritable page turner. The story is light hearted and there is a golden thread of humour based on self deprication and pragmatism that works well with the Cornish setting. Emotional relationships are explored without getting too deep. Descriptions are sufficient without slowing down the pace of the story. The detection is more Hetty Wainwright than Hercules Poirot and very enjoyable. All in all, a cracking read.

AnspruchslosernUnterhaltungskrimi

Cozy Murder Mystery
Recently returned to her hometown in the Cornish Village of Penstowan with her 12 year old daughter, after leaving behind her job as a police office at the Met and cheating ex, Jodie “Nosey” Parker is keen to embark on a new career as a caterer but things don’t go as planned. Her first job catering for an old flame and his soon to be wife goes pear shaped on the day of the nuptials when the bride is a “no show” and the groom’s ex wife turns up dead outside the venue. When her friend Tony (the groom) becomes the main suspect, all Jodie’s police training propels her into the centre of the investigation much to the annoyance of DCI Nathan Withers the handsome but arrogant detective in charge of the case. From there on it’s a case of old fashioned sleuthing and a dash of good luck to find the murderer. The story was well written with a decent sprinkling of humour and a touch a romance thrown in for good measure. The story was possibly a tad long, but overall it was an enjoyable read.

These are light reading. Best if read in correct sequence as the narrative continues through.Four stars only because this isn’t Shakespeare!
