My son loves Beast Quest. Its the only book he is interested in !

Great for my 9 year old.

This is a special beast quest book, that rather than telling another story with Tom and Elenna, it tells the story of Toms dad Taladon when he was younger, and the quest he went on to fight one of Malvels evil beasts - the swamp ogre. The story is narrated by Tom reading a history book about his dad, which is a fun twist and it gripped my boys very well. Once you get into the story, the style is very similar to the usual books with the same difficulty level, chapters, and illustrations. It's two stories in one book but really they follow on from each other so I felt it's one long story with a split

This is easily the best Beast Quest book I have read. My 7 year old is mad on Beast Quest and has read dozens of them. Occasionally one is chosen for bedtime reading so I can appreciate them! I'l be honest, I can see the appeal but quality fiction they are not. But this one knocks it out the park. It's funny, scary and has some great characters - yes real characters!The story follows Taladon, Tom's father,on a quest to fight Malvel and rid a land of evil. But - and here is the good bit, there are three of them on the quest. A grumpy soldier, a cowardly knight and Taladon. The banter and wordplay between these three characters and the comic relief of the knight really lifts the story.My son liked it too - even though it was largely missing Tom and Elenna.

These are very popular with children in years 3 and 4 at the school where I work so I thought it would fun for my daughter. Unfortunatly while she loves a good adventure and I've explained it's not scary, the cover has put her off and she wont read it -instead asking me to give it to a friend! This is a shame as this is a fun adventure book and she is not a girly girl lol.
