Perfect. My door operates like new.
Excellent. Repaired my much neglected garage door. Instructions not great suggesting removing door - no need - I did mine in situ. Both cables were broken on a up and over door on my sectional garage which has been used as temporary storage and much neglected. Ordered this item and with the help of selective YouTube videos I set about the repair. Firstly I wd40’d all moving parts (including spring) thoroughly. I then oiled the spring as it was rusty and not seen action for some time. Replaced end cones and rollers from this kit. Put cotter pin on shaft opposite the end of the spring with the spring tensioner. Loosened grub screws ready for tensioning spring (spring had no tension due to both cables being broken). Clamped shaft with mole grips. Put tension into spring using the supplied rods. I put tension into the spring until there was a fair bit of resistance. Tightened grub screws. Carefully removed cotter pin by setting up mole grips to hold tension from cotter pin. Using tension bars and mole grips gently let the cables take the spring tension - job done. I repeated this a couple of times to get the right tension to hold the door in mid position but whe repeating the process used mole grips, cotter pin and carefully placed tension bars before undoing grub screws to keep spring in place. I found it really easy once I figured out the mechanism / mechanics.

Cables and rollers for up and over garage doors.
Kit arrived on time. It has a comprehensive tool kit, the punch for the hollow pins is very good quality especially. The cones and cables fitted perfectly. However, sadly the new roller spindles are at least one inch shorter than the originals and the mounting plates will require alterations which although feasible I have used the original rollers. I may be that I will carry this out later. Overall I would recommend this item as value for money.

Good item.
Everything supplied to complete the job. My husband had fixed one before, so prior experience did help. Garage door repaired in under an hour. Happy with item and price.

A surprisingly comprehensive repair kit at a very reasonable price.
A surprisingly comprehensive repair kit at a very reasonable price. Set aside a couple of hours with a second pair of hands, take your time with the instructions, and you can fully refurbish a Henderson garage door. For the best results you’ll need to remove the door completely, but the instructions cover that process clearly. Age‑related note: Our door is from around 1968. Any Henderson door manufactured before November 1981 requires widening two existing holes. All that’s needed is a 13mm metal drill bit, which cost me about a fiver. The drilling itself was quick and straightforward. Tool tip: I managed with standard pliers, but circlip pliers would have made the job far easier. Some of the clips require a lot of force, so having the right tool would save time and effort.

Very comprehensive kit, provides everything you need
One of the cables on my 1980s henderson garage door snapped and I used this kit to change it and it all worked very well. Note that when you change one cable you should change the other as well as they stretch over time and that is what I did. The instructions in this kit suggest you take the spring down from the top of the door; whilst that might sound daunting, it is straightforward in reality. I didn't have any choice in the matter anyway as the gap between the cable spools and the side of the garage was too narrow to do this in situ anyway. I also changed the rollers over to use the new ones supplied in the kit. The only issue I had was getting the e-clips on - they were too tight to push on with pliers and i ended up filing down the clips slightly to get them on (see the picture for an example of what I mean, there is a e-clip on the inside of the door bracket as well). The cable spools that came in my pack were black, not the red and white ones shown in the image, but worked fine. The 4mm punch for getting the pins out is nice quality and looks like it will last a long time. All in all a very comprehensive kit at an excellent price!
