Q: Does this valve have a timer integrated. If not, does each of the 4 outlets have a solenoid with wiring to connect to an outdoor timer?

It does not have a timer for each outlet. It is purely mechanical. The indexing valve works by the timer (aka pump) simply turning on and off. Each time it turns back on the indexing valve simply turns to the next zone and repeats (1,2,3,4 and 1,2,3,4, etc.). No solenoids are needed but you do need a mechanical timer that turns on and off for each zone, like this one (Intermatic T8805P101C SPST 125-Volt Mechanical Cycle and Irrigation Timer Switch with 14 Day Skipper and 3R Plastic Indoor/Outdoor Enclosure). I asked around and indexing valves are preferred to solenoids - less moving parts. If you want WIFI enabled sprinklers you need to use solenoids and a smart sprinkler timer. Hope this helps.
