I agree that the book will definitely help in going deeper into the subject of the cards Review: Who and what runs your life? - These cards are great and this is my second set having lent the original one's to a friend. In all honesty I think they are best used in conjunction with the Sacred Contracts book by Caroline Myss. They helped me fine tune which were my 12 Archetypes i.e. the 12 psychological patterns which run in my life. Although you have a lot of cards here (72 + 6 blank if you feel you need to make a different one) I found it easier to work through each card reading the positive and negative aspects of the characters to see if they resonated with me rather than reading through the section of the book that covered this process. By having cards you can reduce by instinct and deep thought the 72 down until you have the 12 that resonate most with you. Used thoughtfully this process will take time. Once you have worked them in can help you achieve greater insights into your life. To me this process is not for the faint hearted and it takes a lot of thought to recognise the true patterns you run. I was lucky in that I was introduced to the concept of Archetypes in a safe group setting where with good guidance and lots of discussion we were all individually able to see what patterns we were running however ultimately the answers will come from within. There is a 105 page booklet with the cards which do give instruction on how to use them without the book and more guidance of each archetype than the cards themselves. Personally if the idea of archetypes is new to you then get the book as well. Highly recommended if you want to know why you keep following the same patterns - with the wisdom of your new found knowledge from the book and cards you will understand your life and deal with things in a new way. They are beautifully printed with a glossy surface so will last well.

Archetypal inspiration
Love the artwork on these cards and I feel they match the archetypal images well, not so keen on the descriptive text that accompanies them but it's nicely open to interpretation.

Versatile cards, great for experienced therapists
I love these cards. I am a Dramatherapist and I use them a lot in my therapy sessions. I would say they are for adult use only as they tend to be quite complex and the language used is very adult. The only thing I would change would be to have the light and shadow attributes on the other side of the card and a larger image on the front, so people can work with just the title and image to begin with and then explore more deeply once they have selected themm
