I have never wrote your review for any product no matter what I've brought and from anywhere but this one I felt I had to review there are pros and cons and I'd like to make it clear I am no tech wizard but I know what I like there are pros and cons and this is liable to be a bit long-winded but I think for future buyers it will be worth the read firstly the pros. The price was well within my budget and delivery was excellent on time no problems and no damage now we get to the TV the picture quality is very good it is not harsh and in your face but all round a very good picture and I was very surprised the sound is excellent for a flat screen TV many options to choose from to tailor make it to your own specifications in fact I brought a sound bar about two years ago for a 12 year old Samsung we had that the sound on each was rubbish this was not needed for this TV and has been removed he in fact my daughter's boyfriend has a TV 60 inch oLED TV which you paid a fortune for and the sound on it is rubbish compared to this TV a TV is smooth in operation and responsive to speech if fact I'll go as far to say this TV is well worth the money and my wife and I could not be happy with each now the cons the sockets for the HDMI our situated in the middle of the TV at the back not a problem if you're going to Mount it on the feet it came with but if you're going to pedestal mountains or worse still wall mounted then trying to put the plugs in for the relevant device is can be a bit fiddly but is doable with patience unfortunately it's only has USB 2 not 3 which is a bit of a letdown but for the price it's understandable I hope this review helps somebody out let me make it quite clear I do not work for Amazon in any way shape or form I'm just a normal consumer who knows what he likes in my opinion for the price I paid for it I am well happy

Excellent Value for the Price – Perfect for Everyday Use!
I recently purchased this TV while was on sale has I was looking for new one for my bedroom I’m genuinely impressed with the quality it delivers at such an affordable price The built in smart features are a huge plus It comes with all the major streaming apps pre installed Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and more. The interface is user friendly and the remote with voice control (Alexa) makes navigating menus and searching for content incredibly easy sound quality is also surprisingly good It’s loud enough and doesn’t sound tinny Setup was quick and painless plug it in, connect to Wi-Fi sign in to your apps, and you're ready to go The build feels solid and well made for the price point Overall this TV exceeded my expectations It's perfect for anyone who wants reliable performance without spending a fortune Highly recommended!

Streaming Straight to the Point
The Amazon Fire TV 40‑inch Series 2 has fired up our living room in no time. The built‑in Fire platform makes streaming shows and apps effortless—no extra boxes or cables needed—so setup was a breeze and content is just a click away.Picture quality is clear for everyday viewing, and the 40‑inch size hits a nice balance for medium rooms. While the TV is on the basic side and occasionally slow to respond, it still delivers reliable access to all the major streaming services, which keeps binge‑watching frustration to a minimum.Overall, it’s practical, functional, and perfect for anyone wanting the convenience of Amazon’s ecosystem without fuss. A simple, solid choice that keeps entertainment on fire without overcomplicating things.

Much better than I thought it was going to be...
Bought this on Prime Day as I wanted a reasonably priced replacement Smart TV for our guest bedroom - with Fire TV streaming services capability - and this seemed to suit the spec well. I was toying between this and the FHD 43" version for not much more but went for this on size preference. It was also going to be used as a replacement PC monitor [in the same room] so this had to do two jobs. I was expecting a slow responding GUI and poor displaying 720 resolution LCD TV to be fair, given the price... but was really surprised to see how well it performed in both the capacity of a Fire TV and as a PC monitor. I can't really fault it as a guest room facility. It streams content well (given its 100Mb ethernet port limitation), it displays pretty good (there's lots of control to tailor the screen to your exacting preference but there are also decent presets for that as well) and it actually does a good job as a PC monitor.Downsides...? For the price, nothing showstopping. The onboard speakers on it are limited - as they are on all LCD TVs this size - so consequently the standalone sound isn't great (but to mitigate that, it does have a HDMI connection that is 'Audio Return Channel' (ARC) enabled, so you could add a compatible soundbar to improve matters). On a similar note, there's no "old school" physical headphone/line out jack socket (although Bluetooth audio connectivity is available). It would've been nice to be able to electronically label (and therefore Alexa voice-enable) one of the HDMI inputs as a "PC" (seems to be the only label option missing and odd seeing as it has a 'PC' screen settings preset). And lastly... the mains cable is hardwired and fairly short. Other than that... it's actually quite a surprisingly good performer.

Brilliant TV
Brilliant TV. At first it's a bit laggy but that's during set up when it's updating the system after that it's nice and smooth. If you hold the home button on the remote it brings up a quick settings menu which shows settings for picture, sound, input and your installed apps which is nice. The picture has a few different picture modes and the sound does also. HDR is a bonus, especially if you are a gamer like me. I've found the best settings for gaming are:Picture mode: PC.Backlight: 100.Smart HDR: on.Brightness settings: contrast: 50.Colour settings: saturation: 50.White balance: colour temperature: standard. The colour temperature is set to warm by default but it gives the picture a yellow/orange tint. The weight of the TV is like a feather. When the delivery driver handed the box to me I thought they had forgot to put the TV in the box lol. The TV not having an aux port wasn't a problem for me as when I'm gaming I can plug my gaming headset into the controller. When I watch something at night I connect my Alexa ear buds to the TV since the TV has built in Bluetooth. The controller isn't too big, it's nice and sleek. The instructions only tell you basic things so I advise you to spend time looking through settings. They are features which could increase power usage, which it will inform you with a pop up if that's the case. Eg auto power off after the TV isn't in use for a while. After my purchase I would have bought this for the original £299.99, I was lucky enough to get it on offer for £199.99 at 5 monthly payments of £40. Highly recommend!

TV is Great Until Something Goes Wrong – Then There’s No Support
I purchased this Amazon-branded Fire TV in April 2025. Initially, the product worked well and I was pleased with its features and performance. However, just a few months in, it stopped working entirely and became stuck in a continuous boot loop on the Fire TV start screen.Since then, the experience has been appalling. I had to try five different routes to contact support, including being rerouted to the German Amazon website and receiving a callback from a German call centre. When I eventually managed to reach the UK team, I was unable to speak with anyone and was instead sent a vague replacement link.I finally got through to someone via live chat. After a long wait, I was passed between two agents and told my case would be escalated to technical support. I was assured I’d receive a response within 24–48 hours. It has now been over 72 hours and I’ve had no contact whatsoever. I even sent a formal email to Amazon’s complaints department — still no response. It’s extremely frustrating to be left without a working television and no real support or accountability from Amazon. Also, it was only during this process that I learned the device is manufactured by TCL, despite being branded as Amazon — this was not made clear at the point of sale. The TV itself is great — until something goes wrong. Then you’re completely on your own. Support is disjointed, slow, and unreliable. I expected much better from Amazon.Would not recommend this product or experience.

Excellent TV
Bought during the Prime sale at a decent £100 reduction so paid £149. It was bought for my son’s bedroom specifically to run over Wi-Fi only as we had no Co-ax socket for aerial use, however as the house has Giga fast broadband we have no issues with streaming multiple devices at once. We are already a Fire stick home with two others in service, so to get a TV built around the Fire service was a no-brainier for us.The original plan had been a smaller 24 inch TV with a separate Fire stick, but given the Prime offer is was a simple decision to go for a larger screen size with Fire built in as the operating system. Set up was therefore an absolute doddle for us, BUT!!!!! Beware if you are wall mounting. We purchased a bracket and trunking etc, however the M4 8mm VESA screws are not commonly supplied with brackets, certainly not the one we bought, and they are not the most commonly carried screw size in places such as Screwfix either: we came up with a temporary fix to get started and ordered some from Amazon, but given the small size needed for wall mounting it would have been preferable for this very cheap item to come in the box with the TV!Otherwise, excellent product; 720HD ready upscales beautifully through the various Apps we use on Fire such as iPlayer, Now etc so an absolute bargain. Very highly recommended.

All round quality
This little tv has it all. Easy to set up and connect instructions were so easy to follow.brilliant colour quality and the sound is not insignificant. Lots of built in features but also can download other apps. Has Bluetooth so was able to connect my headphones. It is all as it was advertised as on Amazon web page. Not all tv's are equal to this Amazon fire... A lot of tv's don't have Bluetooth so can't set up headphones. Also not all tv's let you download ops like this one. I could sing praises all evening long but will give someone else the pleasure of finding out. And the price is PHENOMENAL!! I wouldn't have minded paying more😃
