Tumia LAC Genuine Hand Woven Fedora Panama Hat - Rollable

Bought this to take with me on a foreign trip as part of my luggage, so being foldable and packable was key. Much more flexible than my old John Lewis Panama, folds into the supplied tube a treat. Quoted the same size as my motorcycle crash helmet and could have done with buying 1cm smaller, as it is so flexible. Very light in colour, high in quality and low in price. Got to be a winner.After the trip:Well the hat survived about 50 hours travel in the tube, but it did look a bit worse for the experience. Placing the hat in some steam from a kettle allowed some reshaping and in minutes it was almost as good as new. Kept the sun off very well and looks the part.

My husband knew there might be a problem with fit as he is an in between size. The first hat was slightly too big but following a phone call with someone at Tumi, we were advised to return the hat direct with a request for a more precise size and they would do their best. And they certainly lived up to their promise! The second hat was received quickly and is a perfect fit. Husband is very pleased! The service we received was friendly, helpful and efficient and the hat itself is lovely quality.

oh my goodness, if you could hear me screaming at the top of my lungs right now. I am so very very happy with my BEAUTUIFUL Panama Hat, its stunning.The hat is a beautifully woven hat, a nice fine knit and because of the way it is made and the material used it is so lightweight that it almost feels like you are not wearing anything atall. The brim is not too wide but in portion with the hat and enough to cover your face in the sun. The band it lovely and thick and again, very well made.I have nothing but positivity and love for this product and I have purchased a couple of Panama's in my time - this by far is the best. Thank you so very much for selling a beautiful and affordable hat.

a good fit, if a tad on the large side; looks good and it is rollable so its ok for packing away in the luggage - and avoid looking like a prat wearing it at Heathrow!What a pity it didn't include the tube for packing - had to buy that separately!

This is a really great Fair Trade Panama Hat. Which I ordered after reading the Amazon reviews!But.... I ordered a 59cm as I have quite a large head (which my husband had measured before ordering) speedy dispatch, so highly recommend them for that. However, that hat was too loose, so I went through the excellent Amazon returns procedure and paid an additional £3.50 postage for an exchange item. Which I thought was quite fair and reasonable.The replacement 58cm hat arrived, but this was too small, My own fault, I only wish I had taken reference of the specific measurements of the 59cm. because there was a significant difference in size and had I done so, I could have taken this up with Tumi.I have eventually purchased a Panama Hat from a hight street store, which is fine, but I had specifically wanted one that rolled and could be transported whilst travelling.The down side, because of the box size is that I have had to spend £6:00 + twice to return the item.I suppose by the law of averages of the amount I order on line I was bound to have a bad experience sooner or later.A pity because as a supporter of Fair Trade I would have preferred to purchase from Tumi.Once I had returned the second (replacement) hat to Tumi they came back to me with an apology for my experience, refunding my return postage costs.So all in all I did not get the Fair Trade Panama Hat , but let's be honest that is probably more to do with the aize of my head and the fact that I have lots of hair, than a design problem with the hat.In conclusion, Great product, Very good company to dealt with, so highly recommend this product!Everyone considering purchasing a Panama Hat (and they look very stylish) should buy one from this company!I would be more than happy to dealt with them again!

It's really too soon to review, I have used it on one week long holiday and it did what it was supposed to do. It rolls quite nicely but need to see how it stands up to a few more trips.It fitted quite snug based on my sizing maybe next time I would go up one size for a slightly looser fit.Quality appears good but again let's see after more use.

Tried it on out of the box and only my ears stopped it falling over my face. Really cross 'cos it arrived the morning of the trip I wanted it for. Got the tape measure out and discovered the error was in fact my fault, my head not being as big as I thought.Had a think about it. Found in the drawer a thick woven shoe lace. Cut the crimped ends off and stitched it inside the head band. 10 minutes later the hat fitted perfectly, had a nice soft feel to the head and, I later discovered, the thin grip held the hat in place in winds which had all around me chasing hats along the road. I think I will patent the idea. The hat brim has a kind of slightly uneven cut to the edge, which just makes it look all the more authentically hand made. Might just have to buy another for fun.Oh, and it rolls fine.

I was so pleased with my Tumia LAC Panama hat when it first arrived in April 2022 and it has been worn on holidays quite regularly since. However, my initial delight has steadily been eroded. Despite my care it wasn’t long before the woven fibres at the front crown ‘cracked’, a fate that later happened at the top of the crown too. After researching online I managed to stabilise the damage from inside with some fine hemming tape but the cracks are still quite visible. It also seemed to shrink over the first few months and a combination of me sweating in the hat and dampening/steaming the hat to try and stretch it so I could wear it resulted in the dye(?) from the inside hat band leaking a purple colouring into the fibres around it. Not a good look. Such a shame. Such a disappointment.
