⚠️TW/CW⚠️-☠️ of a sibling-Trauma-Drugged h-Forced marriage-Kidnapping (not the h or by the H)-Violence-Duel POV-HEA-Light Bondage 🥵I would give up my 2 cats to have Keir. This man was 🥵🥵.Rowan was the perfect h and Keir was just an absolute freaking delight. I did noticed that the girl that Roman found that was chained up didn’t get brought up in a good chunk of the middle of the book lol she was so concerned with getting her free the whole begging of the book but the moment she got married, it seemed to not be a main point lol that threw me off. HOWEVER, the spicy scenes were spicy and Keir was romantic af w/o coming off as a pansy.The twist near the end was *chefs kiss* and I’ll be curious to see what happens to my bff Stormy bc I’m ready to fight the mf who hurt my precious southern Belle 😭This was a great mix of revenge, mental health breakthrough, and love. Once again I didnt like that the “I love you” didn’t come till the very end like it did in Silent Vows.I was also prepared to get a prego announcement from Rowan bc there were a few hints of the word throughout the later half of the story.Either way this was a 5/5 book and I’m obsessed with Jill Ramsower 🫶

Omg!! Amazing! I read this book in one day. It just sucks you in. Wonderful story. Great characters. Highly recommend!

It can be read as a standalone but I enjoyed the first book so I would have ended up reading it anyway. So, I recommend starting at the beginning. We met Keir in the first book, Silent Vows, and his character was very cryptic, so I was excited for the chance to get a better view of his character. I was hooked after the first chapter and with all the suspense and twists, I could not put the book down. I loved how Rowan was able to convince the solemn Keir to open up. His character was such a mystery but not with Rowan!This was a new-to-me author until I started this series and I have really enjoyed reading her books. I absolutely adored Keir and Rowan’s cute meet! The book ends with a surprise that leads us into the next book. I will definitely be on the lookout for more of her books and the next one in the series.I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

First off, how readers are introduced to Keir and Rowan is really amazing, and truly left readers NEEDING this book ASAP! It is very clear that Jill Ramsower likes to tease her readers…and friends she is very good at it! One of the things that makes mafia different from other romance books is the “meet cute” Keir and Rowan’s introduction did not disappoint and the way the pair were drawn to each other from the start made this book impossible to put down.Keir is the oldest son and is working hard to find his place in the Byrne family as the eldest son of the eldest. Keir works in legitimate and not so legitimate parts of the family business and has little time for a social life. He is pretty closed off and doesn’t trust many people. Until he stumbles upon Rowan Alexander- the woman he cannot stop thinking about her.Rowan is the only daughter of the influential governor of New York. I really felt like her father is a good guy, but might be a little blinded by what others around him are involved in, but at his core he is a good guy that loves his family. Rowan is fierce and as the story unfolds you understand where her strength comes from. Rowan’s past impacts her so much that even those close to her can’t see just how much.Throughout this book Ramsower gives readers a peek into the underbelly of the rich and powerful that often are overlooked when people are looking for the bad guys. The drama didn’t end with New York politics, the Byrne family had some of their own! But the political side that often plays into the mafia world was so fascinating and the inner workings of a mafia family kept me wanting more and more from this family.To outsiders Rowan and Keir might not be an odd pair because they have such chemistry and their banter is top notch. At every turn Rowan left Keir speechless, and he wasn’t sure what to do with that! In turn Keir challenged Rowan, encouraged her to follow her passion, loved her for her quirks, and is such a fierce protector. He truly is amazing book boyfriend material, he gives off total touch her and die vibes….his soft place in the world is definitely Rowan. If you love a family mafia this is a must read, in my opinion! This series is top notch, and Ramsower is a gifted writer and she has very quickly become a one-click author for me!

Cue the possessive, alpha bad boy and you have the rest of the story. It's a good one that gets you to a HEA. Both characters bring baggage into their relationship, but Rowan's is extensive. Her baggage is the reason she's in trouble and her growth pushes the story forward. Despite not knowing each other well, Keir jumps in the save her and ultimately begins the process of helping her heal.“I know you have a lot of old scars to heal, and we didn’t start down this road in the most conventional way, but the one thing in this world I never want you to doubt is me and my commitment to you."This is a stand alone in an interconnected series, you should definitely check out the other books.
