Scrunge is the ONLY sponge for me!
These sponges are amazing! The green original version is the only sponge I've used for YEARS, and I've loved them. They are not always easy to find in stores, but are worth the effort to me.These are just as good, but with a more robust scrub surface, so I was interested in trying them out on extra-crazy messes.I love that Scrunge sponges (all versions) stay scrubby for the life of the sponge - they don't compact or lose scrubbing ability like Scotchbrite pads do. And they do last forever: no separation of scrubber from sponge, and do not smell weird easily. The wavy scrubber side helps with that, since you can lay the sponge flat on that side, and there is plenty of air circulation to prevent that stale sourness. Mine have also survived many a germ-killing trip through the microwave with no ill efects. These black heavy duty ones are just as great, but have rougher scrubbing texture and slightly stiffer consistency. This pack is a great value, so it's just an all-around win for me. Very pleased with this find!

Best Sponge!
I tried these a few years ago and will not use any other sponge. The scrub side is so durable and cleans really well. I don’t have to replace this sponge nearly as often as other ones I’ve used in the past, so it really is a great bang for your buck.

Use them all the time
I don't know when I bought these. It must have been a year or more ago and I took gave some left. They are definitely more durable than the average sponge and tough on tough stuff. You do need to use gloves though because the abrasive side is rough enough to scratch up your nails and the skin of your fingertips.

Best ever
Best, no scratch sponges ever. Food does not get stuck in the no scratch side like other pads.

Just what I needed
Love these. They nvr stink and scrubs well. Worth the money. I got the twelve pack, it should last till the end of the year if not more. Very durable

holds together
My experience with other sponges is that the scratchy part eventually peels off of the sponge. Not so, with these, which is great. Eventually, the soft part gets old and degrades, flakes off. The scrubber part stays strong, though.

Shrinkflation claims another victim
The O-Cedar Scrunge was the gold standard of sponges, but nothing gold can stay. I first discovered the Scrunge when Cook's Illustrated deemed it the best kitchen sponge, and I heartily agreed. The black side was rough enough to remove even burned-on mess from pans, and the sponge part was luxurious and thick, so that it lasted a while and held lots of soap.No more.I submitted a picture, but I wish I had thought to save one of the old sponges. This picture only shows the second, thinner iteration of the Scrunge versus the newer, even thinner version. It is literally HALF the thickness of the original. It's "new and improved," according to O-Cedar, but the improvement is all on their side, because I bought a cheap little scrap of a thing that won't hold as much soap, doesn't clean as well, and will need to be replaced after only a couple of dishwashing sessions.Betrayal, y'all. It was the best sponge, and they ruined it. The Scrunge is now cheap and flimsy. It's all rough black side. The scant blue sponge side is useless. It's sad to have to find another sponge, but I'm through with this one.
