GTSE UK 3-Pin 13A Fused Mains Plug, White, Pack of 5, CE Certified, Suitable for the Home and Workplace

They are good for the price but the hole the wire goes into looks very large to me

I needed this plug so I could use my electrical exercise machine ,I had no problems fitting the wires to it ,worked strait away

I needed a replacement 13 amp plug for a lamp that, inexplicably, I had taken the plug off to put on another appliance, I cannot quite recall how or why this occurred but these things happen. I was faced with the dilemma of whether to remove the plug from another item, maybe the cassette desk that has been in my spare room for the past ten years and never been used but then I figured that I just might, one day, want to play that mix tape again that I recorded from Top of The Pops in 1985 so decided against it. The only option was to buy a new one and, a couple of clicks on my phone and I found this GTSE UK 3-Pin 13A Fused Mains Plug, White, Pack of 2 which arrived the next day. And it meant that I have a spare too in case I need another one. It was only when I visited my local branch of Screwfix the following weekend that I realised that I could have purchased a similar 13 amp plug for 95p from them, and everytime I go to a supermarket now I go down that strange aisle with household items including mop heads, T cut to revive paint work on cars and sink plugs to check out the cost of 13 amp plugs in store and I am yet to find one that is anywhere near as much as the almost £4 each I paid for these. And four weeks from buying this, they both remain in the packet and my lamp still does is not working. I think I had better have a word with myself.

I think there needs to be an international standard for this so that you do not end up buying a converter that does not work for earthed European plugs. I previously bought a convertor on Amazon that didn't work for all European plugs, no explanation, why do they sell them, when it is so easy as with this product to provide a single adapter for all European plugs, so both two and three (earthed) pin adapters.

The plastic, screws and cord grip are of reasonable quality. Not sure what the BS says about the size of the hole that the cable enters because this one is huge. When used with low power appliances I would say it is not safe as it would not prevent ingress of a screwdriver. Live and learn - better ones from screwfix that are cheaper. Like almost all plugs sold the 13A fuse will probably need changing to something more appropriate to the cable and device it is wired to.
