concave design means the food stays centred unlike Microplanes which are convex!. While it can be held upright it's best position is over a bowl, the grater is clearly shaped to be used in this way. And yes it's super sharp and grates dangerously well. Lastly packaging says it comes with a 5 year guarantee!didn't like plastic frame and use of rubber to prevent slipping. Also while the rubber on the underside holds it firmly in place I can't see the use of rubber and plastic means this is a lifetime product, it clearly won't be.

It's a little curved and the cheese falls against the frame. I prefer the very straight metal ones but it does the job and looks nice.

I bought based on a reference in a review for another (cheaper) grater. Feels very substantial and grates a little finer than cheaper versions which works well. Very easy to use as sharp but doesn't feel unsafe when washing. Expect it will last many years.

Finally had enough of my blunt triangle. Lightweight but cuts through my veg like it was softened butter. Flat design is great to store. Lightweight but robust makes it easy to use. Grating is effortless as is the cleaning after use.

I have been looking for a large, strong grater for some time. My previous graters have either had too few holes or their frames have disintegrated rapidly. This Leifheit grater might be rather pricey, but it is well-made, sturdy, comfortable to hold and doesn't slip when you press down during the grating process. The grating edges are very sharp (perhaps a little too sharp, take care!) - so it makes short work of whatever foodstuff you wish to grate. It's also a doddle to clean. All in all, well worth the money.

Very good grater. sharp. produces good-sized gratings - especially with cheddar & apples. only small niggle is the back, where the plastic could have been better molded

Brilliant! It replaced my old one by the same brand that the plastic cracked on, the metal sedated sectin was sill shar though.This is a joy to use.
