This salted cod is not of the same quality of the cod fillets you find elsewhere; it is also priced accordingly, between a third and a quarter of the other prices you will see here. They give excellent results if you are willing to put up with the smaller size. If you are doing a presentation piece, maybe you should buy the more expensive whole fillets, but if you are doing a family dinner, this is a much better deal. I have now used around 10 packs of this, and i think it's really good.

Fabulous salt cod. I've used it in fish cakes and soups and it's the real deal. I used to get salt cod from Portugal .. but this is cheaper and half the dried cod was skin and large bones. Soak with 2 changes of water over 10 hours .. too much and the fish loses flavour. Great buy for 10 packs.

Salted fish is not common in the UK and hard to get. At supermarkets they may occasionally carry a cheaper version of this labelled salted fish which is usually pollock. Salted cod as anyone around the Med and the Caribbean knows is a wonderful versatile food yet to come into its own in the UK. This 10 pack deal is great for my family as we eat cod once a week. This is good fish and I can recommend it.
