Is it powerful enough to inflate tires rapidly, or is it a wait?

It depends on the size of the tire. I have huge tires on my Toyota Tundra pickup and there is a slow leak in one. It took 5 minutes to inflate it from 16 psi to 32 psi. A small tire like on a wheelbarrow would inflate much more rapidly.

I’m just trying to pump up basketballs but the screen always reads err and the pump won’t turn on. is there a step i am missing?

If you are using the battery option it may be your battery... I found one of my two batteries (it was a 1st gen, 20v) was dead when I plugged it into the inflater. I put it on my charger & it won't even take a charge. my back up (newer) battery works. I did get a code while trying to use it the first time, B&D wouldn't tell me what the code meant, but suggested it could have been battery related or overheated. So far, I'm not that impressed. Make sure the rocker switch on the right is set to the correct power source, then press the middle button & it should light up. Then you toggle the left rocker switch to the desired function to start. Hope that helps (2 years later).

Nowhere do pictures show what kind of battery or how many do you need, or where do the batteries plug in. wth. i have drill bats. pictures?

I use the battery that came with a cordless drill I bought a couple of years ago. The lithium battery model number is LBXR20, 20 volt, 30wh.

How accurate is the built-in lcd pressure gauge? does it remember the last pressure setting when you turn on the unit?

The LCD is accurate and there is no memory on the display. It will displays current pressure and set pressure.
