Despite what many people said, the Castrol chemists know what they’re talking about. Until 2012 Honda made all transmissions in house and didn’t use planetary gears which was why they always had transmission issues. My fluid was past due and I used this and it worked as good or possibly even better than the OEM fluid. I have put over 20,000 since using it to fill the last time after repeat fill drains to clean it out.

Great product! This review is for the classic debate over non-oem Honda transmission fluid. First of all, this is about 1/2 the price of OEM honda transmission fluid. Second, when buying nine quarts to do a drain/fill three times you save a ton of money. I have to say I have had 10+ Honda's using this without any issues. I wouldn't say it's "better" but notice no major difference. One of my cars was an automatic transmission Integra with over 300k and it was fine.I recently used this on a 2003 Civic LX auto with a 1.7L with 180k on it. I'm a huge Honda fan, but I personally don't see any added value over spending twice as much on OEM on transmission fluid.

I used this to replace my expensive BMW "Lifetime Fluid" , which is not. This is the second time replacing my transmission fluid on my 02 325i with ZF 5hp19 transmission. I originally used Castrol Import Multi-vehicle which listed as a compatible replacement (ESSO LT71141) right on the bottle. Now its called Castrol 'Transmax' Multi-vehicle, but it did not list the ESSO LT71141 compatibility on the bottle like it previously did. But it looks like the same stuff. I contacted Castrol Tech Support and they stated that it still meets BMW LT71141 even though it was not listed on the back of the bottle, so that was enough peace of mind for me to go ahead and use it again. So far, its been about 2,000-3,000 miles and all is good as ever. I was at 135,000 miles when i first used it, now i'm at 192,500 and transmission still going strong. This is good stuff and i wouldn't hesitate to use it if it lists compatibility with your vehicles transmission. ….. Good Luck!

I have not had any problems so far but wanted to share the different style bottles in case anybody was curious and surprised me. I needed an extra quart so I got one from walmat on the left (wide neck, temper seal), the amazon bottles on the right (narrow neck, no temper seal). Both say they are made in the USA with domestic and imported ingredients.

In my experience this fluid is BETTER than Mobile1 AFT for my Mazda3 5-sp AT -- the transmission operates more smoothly, no jerks when cold (unlike my experience with Mobile1 ATF). After driving on OEM ATF since the car was new I first flushed at 35k miles with this Castrol Multi-Vehicle fluid -- everything was fine, smooth operations. Then at 70k miles I flushed with Mobile1 synthetic ATF and was not so happy after that, esp. on those below-freezing mornings - 1st to 2nd shifts were not smooth and sometimes the AT shifted really jerky, esp. when the fluid was cold. Recently I flushed the transmission at 120k, again with this Castrol Multi-Vehicle ATF. I am now very happy with the way it shifts and it drives better, though the car is obviously older and worn out more.
