While the vendor suggested to store books and you certainly could (cookbooks, reference or favorite books) I am using it to sort important papers such as bills, statements, to-do papers (read a manual, complete a registration, information on an upcoming trip, etc.) and mailed catalogs.You receive two of these. Each is made from a plastic that is thick but not high-end acrylic you would find in furniture. These are substantial but I wouldn't drop them from chest height and expect them to survive.There are three slots within each organizer unit. The width of each slot is the size of your fist. Therefore, you can store a lot. There is a flex to the upright dividers so if you had many papers in a slot, you could get a little wiggle room to squish them in.My favorite part? These are clear (no tint). You can quickly see what you're reaching for. They have grip to the bottom. Like a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer, they will scoot but you have to be intentional to get them to move. Otherwise, they stay put.They also have a cut out on each end so that you can put your fingers there to lift them to carry them to a desk or counter rather than have to cradle them from below.Well thought out design. Highly recommend!

This is great on my home office desk. My husband is a pastor and this helps to keep the clutter to a minimum. It looks great with his books gathered when he needs them. I like the clear look.
