An essential for your healing journey
This interactive journal was a really great buy. I am in the beginning stages of my healing journey and this journal has really helped me a lot. There are a lot of insightful questions and activities to do. I really feel like it’s helping me dig deeper into myself and understand why I think, feel and behave the way I do. I’m not someone who journals regularly so this has helped me become a lot more consistent about it. I feel like I have some kind of guideline to journal now.

A great stepping stone into shadow work
Whether you're an "on spiritual journey" girlie, or just caught the big sad, this book is great for pulling back the shades of our shadows. We all know that therapy is a privilege most don't get to have, so finding resources is crucial! This book dives in on how your childhood shapes your adult habits, how you should be tending to yourself with love, understanding your emotional responses, and has many exercises on how to start reframing your thinking. It doesn't feel like a typical "self help-y type book (you know those super corny "if I can do it, so can you!!" kind of ordeals). There was a lot of thought put into the verbiage, as well as the exercises within. I'm someone who struggles *immensely* with self-acceptance and just overall being kind to myself. (CPTSD anyone??) A few of these exercises made me cry, I'm not going to lie. The first to come to mind, was a prompt to "write a letter to your past self" and then it gives a Mirror gazing exercise to do.If you are someone struggling with mental health as a pre-teen or someone in their 40s trying to heal your inner self, I would recommend this journal as a steppingstone. But be sure to take your time with each prompt, shadow work doesn't have a deadline.

A Great Tool!
I’m going to be honest: I was really skeptical about this journal when I saw it going viral. Shadow Work goes viral on the internet within the spiritual community pretty often, but I really feel like it doesn’t go deep enough to give you anything more than some surface level stuff. And on top of that, shadow work often gets horribly over simplified when true shadow work can be really really difficult to get through. But I have to say, I’m really impressed! I’ve been doing one or two prompts a day for the last week and I feel like it really gives you the opportunity to interpret the questions and prompts however they need to work for you. And while the beginning of this journal IS a simplified version and break down of shadow work, I didn’t feel like it was trying to make shadow work seem easy or like it was a good idea to do without the right type of support. Overall, I’m excited to get deeper in.My only complaint is I wish there was a little more space to write but that’s just because I have big hand writing but it’s okay because I can just finish in another journal.

Less Journal, More Workbook
For as much hype as this book was given, the prompts are pretty basic. The paper quality is poor/thin so you see all your writing through the other page. I like journals that are well made because I want to pick them back up in the future to read and reflect. This book doesn't look nice. It's more of a workbook.
