An extremely useful book for everyone
Risa Williams cleverly presents the most sophisticated and important concepts in such a deceptively simple and friendly manner. It is so deliciously digestible that reading it alone even without doing the exercises can be life changing. Einstein said something to the effect that if you really know your stuff, you can explain it to a five year old. Everything goes straight to your common sense bypassing your blocking beliefs allowing you to retool past thinking errors and form new freeing outlooks. This book is both rational and imaginative Your new outlook will be easier to hold on to by remembering the tools and understanding the processes involved. I think it will be a good book for all ages and one I can return to from time to time to ground myself or to use as a springboard for more self-examination.

A great tool!
This book was full of great tools to help readers gain more self confidence. While the book is geared towards younger readers, many of the tools would support a variety of students. Definitely a book I would purchase and gift to others in the future. -KP

Could work for adults, young adults, or children
This is a book written by a therapist, and it includes a number of common therapeutic techniques, such as CBT, to help readers struggling with self-esteem issues. There are worksheets and exercises to help with this process. The layout is such that it could be read across five weeks, covering one chapter each week. The ideas included could work with adult, young adults, and children.Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy, but I wasn't required to leave a positive review.

Actually helpful - A Must Have
I heard of this book after a recommendation from a friend. I love It because aside from the meaningful words, it comes with action items and introspective questions I’ve found very helpful. Thank you!

Practicality meets creativity
What I love most about this self-esteem guide is how all of the tools are either super practical -- encouraging you to break down your expectations and goals into manageable pieces (there are even work pages to help guide you) -- OR the tools are super creative. It's this last part that really made this book useful to me... made me think about so many aspects of being young! Williams encourages you to use your imagination again, as you did when you were a kid, and these sorts of fun, creative exercises instantly make you feel energized -- e.g. imaging what sort of "inner hero" we can find in ourselves. Her writing is direct and to the point (no fluff), and it's all useful. Really a quick, fun read that is immediately useful.

An absolute gem for inner-peace and self-love
This book is incredible. As someone who loves books that motivate me and lift my spirit— I highly recommend this book if you're ready to reset your mind. Every chapter and every word resonates with different parts of me that need these reminders and lessons. What I love about this book is that I can go back and read it over again and learn something new every single time. It’s a very insightful and informative book— I keep this on my nightstand so I can feed my mind rich content before going to sleep so that I can wake up feeling positive. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to tap into their personal power and live a fulfilling life.

Practical, informative and inspirational!
(This is a review by Kresimir's partner, Maja!) This is a practical, informative, and inspirational book that I am planning to put to use personally and professionally as an educator. What I love is how each chapter tackles a different facet of self-esteem, how it has specific practical exercises that you can do to help build compassion for yourself as well as self-esteem, and that it is supported with research in the easily understandable and digestible form of "neuroscience nuggets". The illustrations are also really helpful in making complex topics easy to understand and remember. I am recommending this book to all the counselors at my school as well as to all academic deans.
