Yes, I use it in my Rug Doctor machine at 1:4 to 1:6 ratio. Works for me many times better than the Rug Doctor products. I pre-treat spots with it full strength with a spray bottle.

Q: Do you dilute this with water?

I do. I do half water half solution. GREAT RESULTS. I use this on every stain. Clothes. Car seats. Rugs. Literally everything! I also use this instead of the expensive carpet cleaning solutions.

Q: Can this be used on large areas and does it have to be rinsed or extracted from carpet after use?

I have never rinsed and/or extracted this product, from carpeting, after use just paper towel/cloth to clean-up the stain(s). My carpeting has not shown any issues from extended use. We have used it in large, carpeted, areas as our older dog had fecal accidents, walked through and spread matter over a wide area.
