Vogel's 8000 Series EFW 8145 Motion+ Wall Mount for 19-26 inch Small LCD TV

First the good news: it's beautifully made. Ludicrously expensive, but precision engineered. You won't get any wobble out of this - just smooth, gliding motion, handled with ease. This factor alone separates it from just about every other bracket out there, most of which appear to be bodged together out of bits of old angle iron. It has allowed me to mount the TV into a recessed alcove and be able to pull it out for viewing from the kitchen.Mounting and unmounting the TV from the bracket is very easy once you figure out how the tiny latches work.It does come, however, with a few caveats that you should be aware of.* The way it folds means it has a very wide footprint behind the telly; anything below 42" and you'll be able to see the bracket when it's folded against the wall. Even with 42" you might well see it on one side. I'd guess that 47" is the optimum for this bracket.* The mounting plate that fits onto the TV stretches right across the back of the TV and may very well block access to sockets. Vogel's claim that it fits any TV is correct with respect to where mounting screws might go, but totally unfounded if you take into account the amount of TV back that that plate blocks. You get a little wiggle room up or down but not much.* The motion of the arm is really NOT what you might expect and certainly not made clear in their marketing with their reference to the 90deg "option". What you get is this: you mount the bracket so that in one direction the TV can be pulled out so that it is 90deg to the wall. It's not an option - it's just what the bracket does. (It'll do 75deg in the other direction.) In pulling it out the TV follows a fixed arc that is restricted by the motion of part of the arm. It's not like you pull it out towards you and then spin it left or right - the TV follows a defined arc. This is a good thing if simple gliding motion is what you want and it certainly stops you scraping the edge of the TV against the wall, but it might leave the TV not quite in the position you expected to be able to achieve.Turning the TV in the other direction is a slightly different action, in that this *is* a matter of simply twisting the TV round. I guess another way of looking at it is to say: if you twist the TV in the direction that allows you to go to 90deg, you're moving the arm in and out to achieve the turn; if you twist the TV in the other direction, you're not (necessarily) moving the arm.* As with all TV brackets it's big and heavy (though much lighter than some I've picked up!), but when extended to 90deg you really are left wondering if those 4 screws (really only the top 2 screws) are going to hold it on the wall. A big TV at 90deg to the wall sticks out a seriously long way!!I screwed mine to a heavy wooden subframe which spread the load across a much larger area of wall and anchored that with 8 expanding bolts (4 of which may actually be in something solid!). But as I say, mounting any extending bracket securely to a wall is not a trivial undertaking and although the bracket itself handles the load with ease you need to be sure your wall is up to the task. Most brackets don't extend so the force on the screws is mostly downwards. With an extending bracket such as this the force on the top screws is outwards as much as downwards.* Finally, the instructions you get with it are really inadequate.Would I buy it again? - Yes, definitely.

Quite a bit more expensive than some, but it's when you see it and come to use it, you really do realise why and fully appreciate the design and build quality that's gone in to it. I now have three of these in my house as I've been so impressed with them. Adjusting the TV to any angle really can be done with your single little finger, and provided you've mounted it with some seriously large self-propelling bolts into a masonary wall (I use my own rather than the ones supplied), it can easily take even my 16 st weight. If you've shelled out a small fortune for the latest HD 4K 3D all-singing-all-dancing flat screen TV, don't stint on the mounting - buy one of these, you won't regret it.

Well made, Vogels make superb brackets, the package contained an array of fittings, template and instructions. The bracket itself once fitted is solid and the movement is smooth. It is worth paying a bit extra to buy a Vogels bracket compared to some of the cheaper options. This is the third Vogels bracket I have fitted in my home and would recommend them highly.

Product arrived, took a long time though, I think it came from Germany. Went up well but I did have my buider here to help. Two plastic bits were broken so I cant finish putting it up properly. Contacted the supplier who told me to take it off the wall and send it back which I am not prepared to do, I have asked them to supply me with two replacement mouldings. So far they have not arrived. so beware. The mount swivels beautifully but appears to have no up and down tilt adjustment. It does stick off the wall more than you think.Good news is that the TV is not ever going to fall off the wall.

Does what it says and would definately recommend. You will not be disappointed. The product is strong, durable, and sleek. Glad we paid the extra and went for this one. Even allows you to neaten your wires for a seamless finish. Go for it!!!

A great product and worth paying a little extra..

After taking back a useless bracket from Comet I came across this bracket, it does everything I hoped it would. Sits flat to the wall and swings right out into the room with easy, works great with my 50".
