I was given a bunch of gourds and had no idea there was so much I could do with them! This book is a wonderful guide into all sorts of uses for my gourds, as well as being informative on the history and nature of the little buggers! I love it!

I generally do not purchase used books but was very pleasantly surprised by the condition of the book. lots of good advice and so many great craft ideas. the book gives information on everything from growing gourds, curing them, simple designs and crafts to the complicated. photography is wonderful.

I have been painting, carving, and selling gourds for less than a year, and this is the book I go to whenever I want to know how to do...just about everything. I bought "Beyond the Basics" at the same time I bought this book, and while it's a fine book & features some inspired artists, I don't find it all that practical. Gourd Craft has a good deal of information about growing gourds, cleaning gourds, what products to use to achieve desired effects, various techniques, tools, and much more. I would encourage all gourders to buy this book, but especially those who are new to gourd craft and art.

Good solid book for the cash. Lots of great ideas and patterns to choose between.

I am reading this too because I was led to believe this was more of a beginner book on working with boards. Wow it is very advanced.

Beautiful book with lots of pictures, how-to's and ideas for creating crafts with gourds. Can hardly wait to start. There never seems to be enough time. This book also gives lots of directions to growing, cleaning and preparing gourds as well as finishing them. A must have for gourd creators.

My wife is just starting to make different things using gourds. This book is excellent in all aspects of the craft.It starts out telling about the different types, how to clean then and preparing them for use.It takes a person through all aspects of carving them into works of art, including painting, etching and other helpful things.It also has beautiful photos that non gourd crafters will enjoy.

Excellent book with lots of illustrations and ideas. Great for anyone who wants to work with gourds.
