Thats All Folks
I said I would take down my original review and post another one upon a second viewing of this mini series,so here it is,as Ive just watched it for a second time.I can still only give it a three star rating, because that is all I think it is worth, but at least I can now put my finger on what I think went wrong in my oppinion, instead of just saying something did but not knowing what. And what went wrong was behind the camera, not infront of it,infact it was up in the boardroom.Everything about this mini series was clearly decided by a committee,so as to ensure maximum appeal to a certain age group and demographic, from the casting down to the costumes. Its like painting by numbers, the finished result may look like the real thing, but its just an empty copy.In my previous review I said I found the whole thing a bit bland, and I still do,but least I can now say why. When you make something based on graphs and charts, you rob it of any originality,it becomes mass produced, and like everything that has gone before. If your wanting something to watch as a family,or to keep the kids happy for a few hours, you wont go far wrong with this, its okay viewing, and perfectly safe, but you will have seen it all before.Yet it could have been so much better, because it had the potential. As I said before there are some good performances, its reasonably paced and some of the sets are very striking. Its as if in this department it found a way of showing off what it could have really done.A shame but there you go,when you make everything to a formula, the end result is something thats like everything else, and doesnt stand out.And for me the one thing Neverland does is blend into the background.Sorry folks,I know my previous review wasnt popular, but at least now Ive fully explained my reasons why Im not that keen on this.

Simply great
A really must see film. It comes in two parts but you just have to have to watch them together because at the end of the first part you need more .......

Nevermind
This could have been fantiastic, it should at least have been good, but instead it leaves you thinking, there is something fundamentally wrong. As with their attempts to televise Terry Pratchet novels, Sky uses production companies who seem to think that when filming something fantastic, and where there will be a heavy dependance upon CGI, the best thing to do is to get actors to adopt a theatre stage style of acting, and exentuate their acting style, as actors do when actually projecting their character on a real life theatre stage. However, this concept is fataly flawed, because, whilst an observer in a theatre sitting 10 rows back can't see a subtle change of expression on your face, unless you physically add to the expression with bodily gestures and emphasis, a camera picks up the slightest inclination of face and body.If you do purchase this programme compare Rhys Ifans and Charles Dances acting with the younger less camera experienced cast, both Rhys and Charles say more with less over exagerated acting.Needless to say kids will still enjoy watching this regardless of my opinion.

Never grow up.
I thought this film was very good, well acted and good all round family entertainment that you can watch with the children. I did have to explain to the younger members about the ending I guess too young to understand about the film being a prequel to the Peter Pan films they have already seen.

Showing the beginning of Peter Pan quite well.
Knowing the story of Peter Pan, this DVD had to make sure that all the reverent things happened, like how the clock ticked in the crocodile? I enjoyed the DVD very much, but I think some more thought and research could have gone into the story, otherwise well done.Roy

Not quite five stars but it's fun to watch
Not quite five stars but it's fun to watch. Could have been more tightly edited as it gets a bit 'talky' in places.

Sky's Neverland
A very good and well thought out version of Neverland, entertaining, superb graphics with a natural look to them the mountains trees oceans and sky's .It is fair to say that sky produced an excellent programme for family entertainment.
