A perfect ending to an amazing series
First of all, i am so happy i went through this amazing journey that was the Brutal Birthright series, which is my favourite, about the mafia in Chicago: Irish, Italian, Polish and Russian mafia and their intertwined paths. I can't recommend it enough and i am so ready for the next series, which is about the 2nd Gen, kids of these characters.I would give more stars if i could. This is the 6th and last book of the series, a standalone novel, about the love between Sebastian, the youngest brother in the most powerful Italian mafia family in Chicago and Yelena, a Bratva princess. It is a perfect ending to this amazing, sexy, funny, heart-wrenching, angsty series. Now, about this book:I loved:* I KNEW Seb will be my favourite! He got my attention from the first book* Yelena is great for Seb, i really felt the emotion between them* great character development* makes you feel ALL the feelings like any great book should (i laughed, i swooned, i was heartbroken, angsty, wary....)* we're 'seeing' many great characters from the other books in the series and we can also see their character development* the conflict is a great, interesting one, kept me curious and suspenseful* great conflict resolution* hot sex scenes, one in particular* the greatest ever dynamics between the Gallos - impossible not to love them* great bad guyI didn't love:* that it's the last one, i want mooore* the change in Dante, probably the only thing I wasn't a fan of, though it made senseSafety Squad:* no OW, no cheating, no rape (though at one point, h is touched - just touched, against her will by someone, not the H).Favourite quotes:'May a d*ck grow on your forehead' - might be my new favourite swearing.'Play the opening like a book, the middle like a magician and the endgame like a machine.''There's no pleasure quite like reading is there? Sometimes, it's the only thing that eases my mind' - how relatable is this?In conclusion, READ THIS BOOK AND THIS SERIES!! You will not be sorry ā¤

AMAZING series finale to an incredible series
series finale of the brutal birthright series and it definitely goes out with a bang!sebastian gallo is the youngest son in the gallo family. with all of his siblings now partnered off, heās feeling a little lost. with his future in limbo after getting his knee smashed in by his brother in lawās bodyguard, he gave up his dream of going pro as a basketball player (all water under the bridge now, obviouslyš), heās unsure what his future holds. he was a good boy, never one to get involved with the jobs in his mafia family ā but thatās soon all about to change.he meets the beautiful yelena one night while walking home one night, he saves her from being thrown into the back of a van.. or so he thinks he didš. yelena is daughter of the new russian mafiaās boss (because sebastianās dad, enzo killed their last one ā we keeping up still?š¤£).sebastianās character development throughout the whole series was just incredible to watch unfold, he goes from good boy to this absolute (completely unexpected) bossš„¹ iām so proud of him! so many shocking turns, heartbreaking chapters but also heartwarming ones! sooo much drama and suspense!iām really sad this series is over, i absolutely loved it! i love a good mafia romance! iām excited to start kingmakers next (and by next i mean at some point in the near future, just working through my tbrš¤£) which is the follow on series from this one and itās about their kids!! such easy reads i flew through this series so quickly, high recommendš„° my favourite out of this whole series is nero gallo, it was love at first read and heās had me ever since (although, raylan comes a very close second and nearly gave him a run for his moneyš).

Good story
Here is the thing, I like Sophie Lark's books . I read the previous 5 books as well. The only reason I gave only 3 stars to this book is that because when Sebastian broke his knee for second time not only he didn't get any medical help but he had no problem having sex later on and days after that he fell on his knees ( on broken knee mind you) while actually he needed knee surgery to fix it. Otherwise the story was interesting and was keeping my attention till the end.

Beautifully Done
The Brutal Birthright series was amazing. Iāve loved being immersed in the Mafia world that Sophie created. I canāt wait to read her underworld series, and the kingmakers series.Heavy Crown was an amazing read. Up until this book, Stolen Heir had been my favourite, but Heavy Crown is just as good. Sophieās writing made the characters from this book step off the page and feel so real.Thereās parts of this book I couldnāt believe what I was reading, I had to sit my kindle down and process what was happening. She broke my heart and healed it all in this stunning conclusion to the series.Iām a picky reader, it takes a lot for me not to get bored or fed up during a series, but Brutal Birthright, kept me engaged from book 1 to book 6 . If you love dark, twisted, but beautiful mafia romances then you need to read this series. āØāØāØāØāØ

The Perfect Finale
The final book in the Brutal Birthright series does not disappoint, and it's more than you expect.I had no idea where the plot was going to go - even though each book can be read as a standalone, there are threads and plot points that wove through all 6 books, and to find a way for them to all wrap up and still be an individual love story was badass. Sebastian Gallo is tied to his family's way of life, and through them to all of the other characters and pairs we've met in the novels. This is a story of alliances, respect, and prioritizing what you value. Sebastian and Yelena both learn that they have to stop letting other people tell them who they are. This is almost like two books in one, because around the 50% mark the craziness really starts and you're just like, holding on while screaming hoping that we get to that happy ending. It is absolutely the start of a rollercoaster, with things inching up and up, the tension winding tighter and tighter, and then you fall, and your stomach leaves your body and you're screaming. Just before it got crazy, I looked at my husband, curled in a little ball on my couch and said "something bad is going to happen but I don't know what." And let me tell you, that clarifying moment that sets the rest of the novel off - it will hurt you and shock you.Sebastian is much deeper than you'd expect based on how he's previously described. He's smart, committed, complicated, and has a dark side that comes out to play in both sad/devastating ways as well as very sexy ones. You think the barn scene in Broken Vow was hot? You haven't seen ANYTHING until you read Sebastian's story. Aside from his ability to light a kindle on fire, you hurt for him. He's alone in so many ways, and has to step up and make decisions. Even when you, the reader, worry they might be the wrong ones, you support him anyway.Yelena is different. A female character who is tall and imposing ,tries very hard to put on a front, and is suffocating underneath the burden of expectations and control. All she wants is to call her own shots, even if the shot she calls is surrendering. Being inside her head was brutal, and relatable, even if we aren't the daughters of mob bosses we know what it's like for the world to tell you your value as a woman. In some ways, she loses the most in the story but quality is better than quantity. Yelena is pure badassery. You know that she will fit in with everyone else in the Gallo/Griffin crew, and they will love her. This series is a spectacular take on the mafia subgenre, and Sophie never fails to surprise me with the way she writes these books. Even when I can see where it's going, I never know how we're going to get there and I love it. Mafia can get stagnant and predictable, and this series filled me with energy and excitement. Heavy Crown is no different - it's a kinetic read that will have you flipping pages and squirming to escape the tension. I'm so sad to leave this world, but frak if we aren't leaving it on a spectacular note. And with a hint of the world to come...

Seb and Yelena š¤
This book turn a 360 turn right in the middle.I always loved Seb from the very beginning so I was looking forward to see how his story would go.When Yelena is capture omg was that š„š„š„š„š„!Yelena made some choices that left her without anything but Sebastian is a good guy and loves her so much that he recognizes that she risked her life for his so when the reconnect it was fire and heartwarmingā¦The two of both are just right for each other and I loved the ending.Canāt wait to read Kingmakers!
