The Unbound Witch: Unmarked, Book 2

..
I don’t not like it…Kirsi has way too chapters from her POV. She was a secondary character in the first book and was more involved in this one than Bastien was. It was just strange and felt like we had her book within this book. Other than that it was good and ending on a HEA.

Excellent conclusion with forgiveness, love and fast paced action!
The Unbound Witch continues the story of Raven and Bastian from The Unmarked Witch. This book picks up right where the last left off and focuses on everyone recovering from the events at the end of The Unmarked Witch and trying to figure out how to save their world. One thing I loved about these books is the relationship between Raven and her best friend, Kirsi who entered the trials with her. Kirsi is fiesty and very protective of Raven. They love and support each other even when they don't agree with each other, the dynamic between them is what everyone longs for with a true best friend. I don't want to spoil The Unmarked Witch so I wont go into details but Raven and Bastian have to find a way to continue on with their relationship and forgiveness needs to be granted for things not revealed in the previous story. As the story progresses, other characters enter the fray to help form a found family that will stand by each other and fight for what is right. MiIranda Lyn did an amazing job creating character that we will root for and love and mourn. This book was an excellent conclusion to The Unmarked Witch and was very satisfying to me as a reader. I highly recommend it to readers who love found family, fast-paced stories with high stakes.

Good Read
This was an enjoyable read with some good plot twists I wasn’t expecting. I did feel like it was a bit slow in the middle but picked back up towards the ends.

A New Favorite for me!!
The Unmarked duology bulldozed its way into a spot on my favorite series list, and I will be screaming at everyone I know to read it.“It’s called balance. A little chaos and murder mixed with magic and pleasure.”This book came through with continuous action, plot movement, and MULTIPLE twists that took me by surprise. I was so terrified after the ending of the first book and first chapter, I spent almost a full day avoiding it, but I know better now and will never doubt Miranda Lyn again.Raven is one of my new favorite MCs. I liked her in the first one, but her fire really burned in this book, no matter how many times others tried to snuff it out. She persevered when she was broken and afraid and did so while staying true to herself. Raven's not the only star in the group, though, and we get a new perspective here that helps to expand the world and depth of other characters.I've been torn up and put back together too many times to count over the course of this story. Top that with a found family that nestled its way into my heart - the heartbreak, triumphs, and healing moments felt all the more potent.

slower than book 1
I gave this book 3 stars but I really did find it more tedious than the first. I absolutely loved the first book and couldn’t wait to read this one.I didn’t feel like enough time was spent sussing out the details. All of our questions are answered but the relationships are rushed in this book and some parts were drawn out to exhaustion.I didn’t love the POV changes either. I was more interested in Raven and Bastian than Kirsi. Atlas and Tor were good character but had rushed development and then we were immediately in love with them. It was weird. I took a break from this book around 60% and then returned to it and forced myself to finish instead of skipping ahead. The ending is left on a weird semi close and Raven also mentions Kirsi’s home life as a child which was never mentioned before and not brought up again with any more detail. The his was in the second the last chapter. Why??So it was fine but it wasn’t as good as the first book. I wouldn’t buy this one.

Great reads all around
Both books were great. I'm not the most thorough reviewer but I truly enjoyed reading this series and every twist and turn was definitely leaving me on the edge of my seat. Didn't see the one about the dad but anyways, I feel like we got just enough in each chapter to keep the plot flowing. Some parts I did have to re-read because I wanted to make sure I was following what the characters were doing correctly but that's just how I read. Loved the ending and loved the addition from Kirsi!

The magic of the grimoires
Witches targeting witches, Raven is struggling to find people she can trust, and her life has just gone to hell. Stranded in the human lands, things are about to get way more complicated. There is lots of action and adventure, a few twists and revelations. Bastion has a few secrets of his own. The friendship between Kiri and Raven is fun to read. They support each other and call each other out when one of them is acting out of character. The ending was a bit of a letdown, no huge battle scene, but still a good book.,

well damn
This book was amazing. Full of twists and turns. Also heartbreak and happiness. I couldn’t recommend it more. Though don’t read the last few chapters in public unless you want to be explaining to people that the book made you cry.

4.5 stars
This book featured some F/F, which was unexpected. I did like seeing more of Kersi's POV, but it also felt like she overshadowed Raven a bit.I liked that the ending was bittersweet in many ways. It wasn't your standard HEA. Everyone genuinely lost in order to gain the ending. I wish there had been a bit more of an epilogue, I'm left with many questions.I love the world building and the twists and turns. This truly was a wonderful duet.
