Great for cooking items cut into smaller pieces
Honestly, I never knew I needed these tongs until I had them. This is a set of two pairs of tongs, both with smaller "business" ends that let you flip and check on smaller pieces of cut-up foods without disturbing the other pieces in the pan. I really like how precisely these tongs let me cook. I was pan-frying small chunks of cut-up boneless chicken breast but wanted a nice sear on each individual piece, and the metal-end tongs were perfect for turning each small piece when it was time, without disturbing the other pieces that were still browning in the pan. The nylon-end ones that are a bit wider were perfect for turning long, slender salmon filets that were only about an inch or two wide. It was the same situation where I was putting a nice brown sear on the salmon so I didn't want to use a wider spatula that would disturb the other pieces when only one piece was ready to be flipped. Both sets are also good tools for removing cooked food from the pan and for serving, although since the "grabbing" ends are narrow these obviously are't made for serving large portions all at once, but they are perfect for people to serve themselves small items like olives, cherry tomatoes, ad other cut-up veggies. I like that the tongs with the nylon ends also will not scratch non-stick pans. Both pairs washed up perfectly in the dishwasher.Overall these are well made and the the design of each makes them perfect for cooking or serving smaller items such as chunks of meat or cut-up veggies.

I didn't know I needed these -- some unique features make them the right tool for certain tasks
We do a lot of grilling and sheet pan oven cooking and the longer of this set is fantastic for reaching in and grabbing pieces that may have finished cooking before the rest -- you're way less likely to burn yourself with the extra length and the precision of the tips makes getting even smaller pieces like garlic cloves easier. The shorter plastic tipped is great for flipping things like tortillas in a nonstick pan or pulling pieces out of a stir fry where you don't want to scratch the surface. At the price, these would be a fine pair of "normal" tongs but their specialization has come in really uniquely handy. I dinged durability a little just because they're not as heavy duty as most grill tools, but for what I'm using them for they're totally adequate.Husband update: two observations as the guy doing much of the grilling, esp. with the long handled ones: the added length AND grabby metal ends are fantastic for getting into the back of the grill, or working around flare-ups. HOWEVER, too often and if you aren't careful, the tips cross over one another and get "locked" against each other and it's an added nuisance to spread and open it up again... which is inherently a flaw with the inexpensive design / cheap metal.ON BALANCE, these are a really good addition to my grilling tool kit; and I am getting better about avoiding the crossed tips!

Strange, to me, but they do work well
These tongs work well. I’ve been practicing on various foodstuffs since I got them. They work. That’s settled.I’m just Unsettled because I inadvertently anthropomorphized them when I took them out of packaging and got a good look. It’s their Hands. (I know: it’s really “hands.” But hey — anthropomorphized!) These tongs are Big Guys (yep; Guys); and one of them has Little Hands; and one of them has Big Hands. He has a Shovel for one hand, and a Pitchfork for the other! So, having two Handsy Guys in the drawer instead of two pairs of tongs is something I am trying to deal with. It’s not so bad, really. They Are really good at their jobs. But if they start giving me cooking advice and wisecracks, I — well, I don’t know. Maybe I’ll introduce them to Mr Ice Pick. Mwaa-haa-haa.

Not blown away by the quality
I got these through the vine program to review. These are just OK. sure, they're tongs. The longer ones have metal on the end that would be fine for flipping chicken or sausage or any other small to medium size object. I'm really not sure that they are even be strong enough to flip a large steak. The smaller ones with the plastic on the end are borderline useless. They're difficult to use to grab any fine objects since the plastic on the ends makes them an odd shape. Do not recommend

Grab anything you want, the sky's the limit
I have a pair of cheap dollar store tongs that I've had for years and they get the job done, more or less, but these tongs have easily replaced my old flimsy tongs. You get two pairs, one with metal tips and one with nylon plastic tips. They're long enough so you can handle things without risk of getting burned and the handles are comfortable. They're durable and the design of the tips make handling most anything very easy.

Nice set of tongs
These tongs are sturdy and feel like good quality. I like that they have a plastic covered pair AND a stainless pair.

Good For Light Duty
I ordered these tongs specifically for the nylon tips on the smaller one so that our new nonstick pans wouldn't get scratched up. This feature is working out very well as they’re successfully not causing any scratching. However, while the tongs are adequate, they’re light duty and better for turning smaller things like sausage links or patties. The longer tongs without the nylon coating work fine for the barbecue grill but are also light duty. They’re good for turning hot dogs, bratwursts, or small veggies. While they do their job on these items as advertised, I can’t really recommend them for larger, heavier items such as ribs, bulkier chicken, or a big steak. But if you’re looking for tongs that won’t scratch your pans, are comfortable to use, and you’re planning on using them for lighter weight items, then these are a good choice.
