Used it to make non-slip, water-resistant fabric backing. It's excellent for that!
I wanted this to use to create non-slip, water-resistant fabric backing. This did the trick in one coat. I just applied it with a paint brush, in a thick coat. It dried quickly, and is so far working exactly as I intended for it to work. I'll try to remember to update this once I launder the item. If you are trying this yourself, it should be washable in warm to cool water, but air dry it. Putting it in the dryer will probably cause a big mess for you and ruin the finish. **UPDATE** Since writing this review, I've used this for several non-traditional applications--mostly on launderable items--so I can update on its wash- and dryability! I wanted some thick knee-high slipper socks with non-slip bottoms, so I bought a pair of thick ivory socks and applied 3 coats of this plastidip to the bottoms. After letting them dry for 48 hours, I was thrilled with how they turned out. But when it came time to wash them, I forgot they were in the wash load and they were washed in hot water and dried at high heat. To my surprise, they came out just fine! No problems at all--in fact, the dirt that had accumulated on the bottoms came out beautifully...I assumed they would look dingy, but they looked unworn! So I've probably laundered and dried them 2 dozen times since, and I'm just now noticing that the finish needs to be reapplied, because they are starting to not be waterproof on the bottoms (I wear them outside sometimes, so I've no doubt that walking on concrete also impacts the wear). But they still launder to look brand new, and I'm convinced now, more than ever, that plastdip is the best stuff to make fabrics water- and slip-proof!

Repaired dioscountined eyeglass frames
This is my first order. My glasses are no longer being made and I can't buy the ear pieces. So I'm using this to smooth the teeth marks left by my dog on the end of the temples. It works well. It helped me fill the cracks and smooth the surface. It sets up quickly but not so fast you can't work with it. Use your imagination. This is a good product limited only by what you do with it.

Easy to use
Works great and easy to use. Just wish it would’ve included the color kit.

Excellent product that really does a fantastic job.
I came across this product while doing research on how to insulate tools and on the instructions listed this product. Now I'll be the first one to say that this product will not protect you from 1000 volts like a insulated tool (for example a insulated Klein wire cutter) but it will protect from some voltage. I am not sure how much though. However, this product has done a terrific job in creating insulated, comfortable cushioned grip on a older wire cutter I have and this product has neither cracked, chipped or became brittle. Instead of simply buying a new wire cutter altogether. But what is really nice about this Plasti Dip in particular is that it's clear and if I so choose to, I can use color tinting and create a variety, if not endless amounts of colors. But I also like that I can use this on virtually any item with the exception of items near or in heat sources, open flame and anywhere sparks may occur, but that is pretty obvious. But it's also worth noting that this product is entirely flexible, provides insulation and is very durable. However, I do recommend that when using Plasti Dip that you wear both a NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) approved respirator and a pair of impervious gloves. The respirator because of smell this product emits and gloves for personal protection and provide a non slip grip. I would also recommend using this product in a well ventilated area and have a location to place the item dry. The drying time takes 30 minutes and once dry, you can coat again. Over all this is a great product and I would and have recommend this to anyone.

Excellent Product !
I originally purchased this product to coat the handles on two old pairs of pliers that belonged to my grandfather. Plasti-dip gave a factory quality coating and a comfortable gripping surface. I used four coats for this application. This larger size is perfect for dipping longer items like tool handles. I have found several other uses as well. For instance, I have multi-ply windows with internal shades, and the little handle to raise and lower them can be hard to reach, so I got the idea of screwing a large eye hook into the end of a dowel. this worked perfectly, except I worried that the bare metal of the hook would tend to mar the window framing. I tried large cup hooks with factory plastic coating, but the coating was not very durable and shredded in no time. So I decided to give this product a try. I put 3-4 coats onto large eye hooks. This gave a nice smooth coating which is very durable, and shows no signs of wear after more than a month of daily use. In addition, this clear material leaves no discoloration on the window frame. This is a superior product that I would highly recommend for applications where a durable yet pliable, non-marring coating is needed. I can think of dozens of uses. I will probably give some of the colored products a try as well.

Not so easy to get clean application
I used this to coat the feet of my dining room chairs. I just opened the can and dipped each leg in. It was impossible to get a good, clean and rounded surface on the bottom - it either created a huge bubble or it dried as a drip coming down. Secondly, if the chairs are slid on my wood floor, it leaves some residue behind - looks just like some melted wax was drizzled on the floor and dried Update: The plastidip on my chair feet is holding up quite well (hardwood floor). The smudging/leaving residue behind when sliding the chairs has diminished quite a bit, to barely ever happening now. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this product, though I will leave my rating at 3 stars for the issues mentioned in my original review, above.
