If your wall is thicker than that, you can use a similar type of material to bridge the gap. **Q: How do you screw the nuts on? I can’t figure out how to fit it in the hole the screw goes through.** A: On one side of it the holes should be shaped the same as the nuts. The nuts go into them and locks them so the don’t turn while you screw the bolt through it . Unless I misunderstood your question **Q: When you place the screws through the holes, there are the nuts to hold in place, how do you hold that steady to get the grip?? The hole is tiny** A: The holes on the inside are hex shaped to hold the nuts in place. **Q: My house was burgled once by someone who came in the pet door.
