Draper Screw Holding Mechanic's Screwdriver Set (2 Piece) 27591

I finally found the one product that I have searched for, for many years but probably used the wrong description, until now. These screwdrivers are particularly useful when one is trying to hold two pieces of material together with one hand whilst locating the position of the holes into which to insert a small screw or bolt with the other hand (probably dropping the screw a few times) and needing a third hand to turn the the screwdriver. These two screwdrivers solve that problem completely and are very good quality. and excellent value. I recommend them to all who have suffered this problem.

The drivers worked very well and enabled me to place small screws with ease, then used a long shafted driver to tighten. Very pleased

Great pair of tools. All mechanics, DIY-ers and fitters know the situation where you are trying to screw a screw in a tricky place at an awkward angle, and you cannot hold the screw and get the driver on it. These screwdrivers hold the screw, so you can get it started with one hand. Fantastic!

Fell apart the first time I used it. Can’t be bothered to drive to the shell garage for a refund but very disappointing product.

Like I said in the title they do work. However compared to my old Eclipse(I think) ones they are crude and badly finished. Probably yet more cheap and shoddy Chinese rubbish

Sometimes when doing DIY, you just run out of hands. Having a little screwdriver that holds the screw reduces that requirement by one. These are not heavy duty screwdrivers, but they don't need to be. Holding the screw in place until it bites, is usually enough. Swap tools then if you need more turning power. In the meantime this pair will be on top of my toolkit.

Bought these for my dad as he has been saying for ages how he used to have a set that had the little assisting tweezers/holders, and wished he had some again. They work pretty well, the holders work well and have a decent grip strength but the method of engagement is a bit clunky and the action is not as smooth as expected. But this is just my impression. My dad's feedback is that he loves them, and as he's getting a bit older they really help him for odd jobs around his house.

I used these screwdrivers for placing and starting screws in awkward places. The slotted screw driver worked well allowing easy holding and releasing of the screw. The first use of the Philips screw holder it fell to bits. I easily reassembled it and did the job by being careful with it. I found that the spring retaining plastic cup relies upon coming hard up to the shoulder of broadened blade part of the slotted screw driver and it worked very well. As the Philips screw driver has parallel side and not naturally widening, the design has pinched wings on the stock of the screwdriver for the plastic cup to butt against. Unfortunately they are just a tad small and the spring retaining cup can pass over them ,allowing the gripping plates for the screw to misalign and drop.
