It started acting up and I haven't had any problems with it in years.... so I figured it was the bulb. Well, I learned a thing or two about Starters and replacement starters. This model is the modern replacement for the Hx-2 old school ones. They are not easy to come by locally and Amazon had them for a really low price AND Available right away. Replaced the starter and build at the same time to be safe... and the workbench lamp fired right up bright as ever and not flickering like it was prior. Easy to install and works great. This type of manufacture easily withstands the twisting force necessary for insertion of the starter into the socket.Chinese made varieties are made with plastic enclosures, and the end fittings break loose when trying to insert them into the socket.
