Great book!
Love me some flags! This little book also contains information on each country such as population, capital cities and little map snippets of where they're located.

Great little book!
Bought as a Christmas present for my brother. Arrived today. Has every flag ordered by region. Nice little sections for information on each flag, with picture. I might buy myself one

Good introductory book to the worlds flags, if already a little out dated
The book does what the title says, it details all of the worlds flags (as of 2009 - so includes ommisions like South Sudan) with good size pictures. Along side each picture a breif description of the flag is given along with its meaning and origin. Its not just countries, oversea terretories and regions/ states of countries are also listed. My only criticism is that notation like "this is an overseas British Terretory" is within the description and it would have been nice if that was clarified in the sub header beneath the offical title of the country. That said is a really good introductory book to the worlds flags including non-recognised states such as somaliland.

A great purchase
A thoroughly enjoyable read. Each country's flag is described and explained and links well to a country's heritage. As a Geographer I love it.

Interesting and informative
Bought this as when we watched the Commonwealth Games we realised most of the flags were unknown to us. Enjoyed looking them up and also the additional information given. Well worth the money.

Inaccurate
Bought this book as I am very passionate about vexillology. Know European flags very well, their history, the background, myths and literature behind the meaning of flags as I have been studying European flags for about 15 years now. Unfortunately can’t say the same thing about other continents that’s why I bought this book. Sad to say that not only it is very inaccurate in at least 4 countries of Europe and it could have been more exhaustive in other countries - for there’s much more to say. Speaking only about European countries. Not competent about other continents, yet. Nevertheless, the book presents itself well written, there are illustrations and easily to read.

Vale a pena o investimento.

Not accurate.
I bought it for my 11 year old. She took out mistakes in it. Also, the colours of the flags are not accurate at all!!

Flags Galore
I was searching for a reference and found this and several others. After more scrutiny, this was the victor. This book is all color, which makes understanding how different colors and designs relate. It gives a description of the flag which is very helpful because it allows you to describe it to someone who may not be able to the see the photo. There are tidbits of history spread throughout the book. It is broken down by geographical areas of the world; Americas, Europe, etc. From there the areas are divided into regions - Canada, United States, Central America, etc. The history of flags is briefly mentioned along with some flag etiquette. A very interesting section is flag and flagpole nomenclature; surprising and informative. This would be helpful for someone looking to join an Honor Guard. A outstanding and worthwhile reference for history buffs!
