I had to buy two of them + Update: Battery Life
Update: Now in my 3rd week with the product and battery life is at 48% on one tracker and 55% on the other tracker with just the initial charge. My dog Tank has "ESCAPED" 3 times since then and I've been able to recover him within 10 minutes each time, except for once when it took me 30 minutes to find him because he kept moving and I kept driving past him, but I had him tracked the whole time. It can be kind of difficult to track them when they are on the move, but I use the tracker of the first dog who is with me, to guide me to the second dog on the run. Works pretty good. Thus far I'm pleased as punch with this product. I used to have to wait for him to come back, have a neighbor bring him back, or get him at the dog pound. So, the peace of mind alone is worth the price! Short Story: My units arrived on one day, my dog Tank ran away the next day, and the notification alarmed me the he was out of the safety zone within minutes, I brought up the search grid and found him two neighborhoods over and recovered his bad ass within 10 minutes of his great escape! Bravo Zulu tractive it proved its value within 24 hours of its purchase! Long Story: Both of my dogs showed up on my door step, Brutus (Belgian Malinois) 5 years ago and Tank (American Pitt Bull) 5 months ago, and in both cases I tried to find the owners but never could. So, my dogs are wanderers, runaways and accomplished escape artists from day one. They will get out on the lamb at any time because escaping is in their nature. Twice Brutus has disappeared over night in the forest behind the high school which is full of hungry coyotes where I sat in my car all night worried and crying with no idea of where he could possibly be, only to have him show up in the morning 9 hours later, tail wagging like he had done nothing wrong. Tank has run away now four times in the past month and a few days ago and I had to go on Ring.com to find him in a cage in the neighbor's house. Somehow he had miraculously lost his name tag so the neighbors had no idea who he belonged to and were planning to KEEP HIM had I not found him on Ring.com. A few months ago he was gone for two weeks only to show up at the dog pound with whooping cough sick "as a dog!" After the Ring.com incident I decided I had to do something so I bought the tractive dog collars for both of them on Black Friday to make use of the sale. I couldn't afford the premium service for both dogs plus the collars because that would have cost $406.00 that I didn't have at the time. I was concerned that the basic service wouldn't be adequate but when I thought about it I didn't really need world wide coverage, free replacement, dog tracking history, and the other bells and whistles. What I needed was to find these bad ass dogs when they pulled their disappearing acts, fast, efficiently, and precisely. They are way too big and intimidating to be running around on the loose and the coyote problem around here put them in constant danger the entire time they are out there. So, I chose the monthly option on the basic plan. I would suggest the company offer a monthly subscription on the premium plans as well, if they had, I would have definitely bought the premium plan. As I said above these trackers proved their value within the first 24 hours of my purchase as I successfully found tank so quickly that I was totally impressed. The virtual fence let me know when tank fled and it allowed me to track him in real time. It doesn't get any better than that. I've heard a lot about problems with battery life and that will be a problem if you are away from the safety zone (Home) that you setup with the virtual fence. If you are at "Home" the units go into a power saving mode that is incredibly efficient. Since my dogs spend the majority of their time in that zone I've had my units on and running for the past 6 days and they are both still at 80% battery life. I estimate the battery could last a couple of weeks in the power saving mode based on what I see now. I will continue to monitor but thus far I am very pleased with the battery life which is considerably better than my cell phone and smart watch that have to be charged daily. I can also say, if you are traveling with the dogs you could always turn the device off until you get out of the car with the dogs, this will extend the life. Cons: The upfront price is stiff for folks like me, especially if you have to buy two units. I bought mine for $59 each on sale which wasn't so bad, but the subscription price is tough because they want it up front on the premium plans, $144.00 each. The basic subscription is $15. I can absolutely see that I want the premium plan just for the tracking history alone, so I will be getting it when I can. I wish tractive would offer a monthly subscription on the premium plan. For that reason I am deducting one star. I wish the GPS real time tracker would provide directions to get you to where your pet is. Yes, it shows the precise location of your animal but if you don't know where Red Stone street is from your location on Brown Stone street, knowing where your dog is doesn't help you GET TO YOUR DOG. In my case I had a second phone that I was able to ask it to navigate me to the location where Tractive said my dog was. It would be helpful if Tractive could navigate you to drive or walk to where it shows the dog's location to be. Untested: I don't know how this product will work when I'm out in the bush but it does use GPS satellites, cell phone towers, blue tooth and radar mode to track your pet, so I will be testing to see how effective it is in the bush in upcoming winter months. But as far as using it in the city, I'm very pleased thus far. Overall: I like the damned thing. I think I might give it the fifth star back. It gives me peace of mind in knowing that my fur babies are okay and safe! I wish I would have bought this before I lost my beloved Brave Heart (Jack Russell Terrier) who was also a great escape artist. If I would have had this I would not have lost him a year ago. My heart is still broken at the disappearance of his sweet soul from my life. Daddy misses you Brave Heart and I pray you are well.

Great GPS device that is easy to use and worth the fee.
I have had this collar for a few years now. Though I was able to fix my fence to prevent my escape artist from leaving this collar is piece of mind that if he were to get out, I could quickly locate him. It also has the feature of keeping track of distance walked when we are out for exercise. I take the collar off any time the dog is in the house as the XL model is heavy. It is easy to set the virtual fencing and easy to charge and the charge lasts for weeks if you are within your home zone. My property is very large and it fun to see how the dog runs around the property. For extra security I use a zip tie to ensure it stays on my dogs collar.

**Tractive XL: The Pig-Tracking Miracle We Didn’t Know We Needed!**
**Tractive XL: The Pig-Tracking Miracle We Didn’t Know We Needed!** Listen up, folks—our pot-bellied pig, Rudy, is living proof that the Tractive XL isn’t just for dogs and cats. This gadget deserves a standing ovation (or at least a hearty snort) for giving us peace of mind on our 40-acre farm. Rudy, our adventurous porker, pulled a seven-week vanishing act that had us hiring professional drone services—three times!—with zero luck. Then, out of nowhere, he strolled back onto our porch, looking like he’d been on a pig version of *Survivor*: skinny, sick, and utterly exhausted. We weren’t about to let that happen again. Enter the Tractive XL, our new best friend. After researching trackers (and dabbling with AirTags for our blind dachshund—cute, but useless for real-time rural tracking), we chose the Tractive XL for its “live” location feature. Let me tell you, it’s like having a pig GPS that actually works! We strapped it on Rudy, and now we know exactly where His Pigginess is wandering on our sprawling property. The app is a dream—both my husband and I have it on our phones, and whether I’m home or traveling for work, I can check Rudy’s whereabouts anytime. The “safe zone” alerts? Pure genius. If Rudy decides to channel his inner explorer and tiptoes past his designated zone, we get instant notifications. Game. Changer. We’ve been using the collar for three weeks, and the battery life is still kicking—no recharging yet! The power-saving mode when Rudy’s in his safe zones is brilliant, and the app is so user-friendly it’s practically pig-proof. You get live tracking, a radar feature, even a sound and light option (perfect for when Rudy’s out meandering in the dark, dreaming of truffles). We can share his location and track his waddling patterns with pinpoint accuracy, which is no small feat on 40 acres in the middle of nowhere. Unlike AirTags, which flopped in our low-signal countryside, the Tractive XL’s reliability is rock-solid. In short, the Tractive XL has turned our pig-parenting stress into pure pork-tastic joy. Rudy’s free to roam (within reason), and we’re free from worry. If you’ve got a wandering critter—pig, dog, cat, or maybe even a rogue goat—this tracker is the real deal. Five stars, two oinks, and a whole lot of gratitude!

GREAT DEVICE & SAFE SYSTEM FOR MY FUR BABY ,but lousy collar !
Love the Safety on this ..Nothing will work until the buttons on the remote are pushed !! I do like the correcting System,we have had this for 6 months now .I don’t believe in leaving a review when you just review something ! Really, how can you ? Ok ,I got the 2 dog collar system … They recommend Three Different Stages for training ..only if you need them ..The first stage .. You have different beep variations as they recommend to start as a warning when your pet does something wrong, you can adjust the different levels on each setting as how strong you need it for your pet to respond Then if your pet doesn’t listen to the beeping ,they recommend, the next step be the vibrations..with also different levels ,but doesn’t hurt them … The Third is the Shock ,,they also send rubber caps to cover the metal probes,so it doesn’t hurt them as much ,but I like you don’t have to shock them.if choose not to use these setting !! All these choices are made only by the master ,none are automatically gonna to do anything to your pet ,until a human presses a button on the remote control !! Plus I’m a little hard at seeing ,and I can clearly see and know what I’m doing with this remote ,that’s A Winner for me. Now ,it’s getting to the point where all I have to do is show them the remote ,and they listen !! Also I have had to get on Amazon ,and order a replacement remote that disappeared and the instructions is with the ordering details on here ,so no need for waiting on long phone calls ,for customer service ..I really like this company has replacements for all the devices needs ,and I don’t have to,order the whole package again ,just because I lost the charger … I still recommend the system ,and hope the company would read about what we ask for the upgrade the collar as our dogs don’t need to wear two collars,it’s just ;;to much weight on their neck We had to replace our collar ,because our puppy outgrew the original, only because our fault ,as my husband cut it short,so don’t do what we did .Though I don’t like this band though ,we are always having to tighten it up ,it doesn’t have a clip w/ holes to keep it in place in the size you want ,nor does it have a leash clip Qhich means your puppy or dog has to have 2 collars at the same time !! I don’t like that at all !! So just a quick recap. Though I do like the correcting System,it works very well,You have different beeps ,first stage then vibrations the second ,the third is shock ,of course is only by your choice All these choices are made only by the master ,none are automatic ,I can see it well ,,that’s what I like most my Fur baby is safe !! I recommend the system .I left one star off because of always having to tighten up the collar and that it has no clip for a leash .This should be made for dogs so they don’t have to wear multiple collars. So I’m hoping the company hears our request and upgrades the collar for our Lovable Fur Family soon and make this a Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Training Device !! I will update my review if anything changes.Have a Good Day with all Dogs !!

Pretty amazing..
Anyone saying this doesn’t work must either be an imposter or not know how to use technology—because it works perfectly. I’ve set up two safe zones and three no-go zones on my 20-acre property. I created a small two-acre safe zone around my house where my dog spends most of her time, another zone that matches my full property, and three additional zones outside of it that alert me if my dog wanders too far. I’ve only had it for three days, but so far everything has been flawless. The battery life could last up to a month, though that might be a bit optimistic. The way we use it, we attach the GPS to a separate collar that snaps on and off easily. We only put it on when she goes outside, which lets us charge the device between outdoor sessions. Even if we didn’t, we’d probably only need to charge it every couple of weeks. You can create a radius-based safe area or draw custom shapes—like a five-sided polygon—for safe or no-go zones. Zones can be as small as 100 feet wide or cover large areas. There’s also a button to make the GPS module emit a sound, which we’re using for training. Our dog is learning to associate the sound with a recall and a treat, and soon I’ll be able to press the button and have her come trotting back. There’s also a small LED light on the collar—not very bright, but a nice touch. Live tracking on the app is in 15 minute sessions... But do not worry, if you are live tracking or not live tracking you Will still get a notification if your pet enters or leaves a safe zone. I almost bought another collar that cost much more and needed charging every two days—no way. I chose the Tractive XL for its battery life and hoped it would have the features I needed. I’m blown away by how well it delivers. The accuracy, battery life, app, price, and overall peace of mind are all excellent. The $10 per month subscription was an easy decision, and they even offer a plan that includes device insurance and replacement. WOW. Here’s a clear, concise version of what you described — perfect if you’re sharing this as a review or recommendation: I recently purchased the Tractive GPS Dog Collar on Amazon for $89, and it’s been a game-changer for managing my dog on my 20-acre property with no fences. The collar’s battery lasts about three weeks per charge, which is far better than most other GPS collars that need daily charging. The Tractive app lets you set up to five virtual zones, sending alerts whenever your dog leaves a defined area — for example, the immediate yard or the entire property. If my dog leaves the property, I get an instant notification. The app also allows you to play a sound on the collar remotely, which I use along with a whistle to reinforce boundary training. It’s effective — my dog now knows when she’s getting too close to the edge of the property, even if she’s five acres away. After buying the collar, you’ll need a subscription plan, available in 1-, 2-, or 5-year options, starting at about $11 per month (billed annually) — roughly $130 for a year. Considering the reliability, tracking accuracy, and long battery life, it’s absolutely worth it for the peace of mind. The tracker is about the size of a C battery, making it ideal for medium to large dogs, though a bit bulky for small breeds. Overall, I highly recommend the Tractive GPS collar to anyone who wants dependable real-time tracking, long battery life, and simple boundary training for their dog. It’s affordable, practical, and gives complete peace of mind knowing your dog is safe and easy to find at all times.

Hound Approved!
Does a great job overall at tracking my hounds. I will say that I recently found out that it doesn't work when my hound is tunneling underground, but that's to be expected in a 10+ foot long tunnel, and is only a problem if you have a tunneling dog 🙄. Buildings and heavy tree cover in the summer can cause issues with connectivity, but that's also understandable when you live in the woods. I live in the middle of nowhere with very little to no cell reception, yet I can still track my dogs all over our property (35 acres), at our cabin on the lake, and at my parents farm in Northern Minnesota (also in the middle of nowhere). We do a lot of ice fishing and we're able to track them easily on and around the frozen lake. Sometimes if it's really cold and we're outside for a while, the extreme temp will cause the tracker to glitch, but I'm talking below -10°F. Once, my dog's collar fell off of her while she was wrestling with her brother in a blizzard on the lake, and I was able to find it (with the tracker on it) the next morning, even though the battery had died overnight. Since it hadn't moved after it fell off, its last location was saved and I was able to easily retrieve it using the app. I had to dig in the snow for it a little bit, but the location was accurate and I was able to find it relatively quickly. One of my dogs likes to pull the other by the collar and frequent bites the tracker, but it keeps working, which I find very impressive. We live off a busy highway, the driveway is about 1/4 mile long, and the "home" zone and "no go" zones with their alerts have helped us keep the dogs off the road and helps keep them alive. They're really good at knowing not to go that direction, but hound's noses tend to lead them astray, especially if there's roadkill involved. It definitely gives me peace of mind knowing that I'll be alerted almost immediately if they've wandered too far in that direction. I've been using the old version of the tracker for a little over a year, and now I've had this version for about a month and the battery life on this version is awesome. It's been lasting several days at a time, whereas we were having to charge the old version almost every day. The new version is larger than the old one, but doesn't seem to bother the dogs at all.

Excellent Tracker
I know that this tracker is not supposed to be for livestock but we are using it on our cow. When you have a lot of acreage and you need to check on your pregnant cow this Tracker makes what used to be the impossible, possible. The tracker we were using before often went off line and had to be recharged about every 2nd or third day. We can't always count on the cows being up on this end of the ranch and if the old tracker went off line then it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. We haven't had to charge this Tracker in 2 weeks and we have about 50% charge left. I love that I can find the particular pregnant cow anywhere on our property. It's preformed beautifully and I highly recommend. It took about 5 minutes to set up and was as easy as pie.

Good tracker and Customer Support
This tracker does more than I realized when I first purchased it. The battery life lasts pretty long (1 week plus if it is in WiFi range, which most of the time it is). It monitors activity (daily, weekly and monthly) along with sleep and health stats. It has leaderboards per location, breed and global. If the tracker falls off you can locate it with the app IF you have battery strength left. When traveling the app does pick up and notify us that they have left home about 3 minutes after we have “left the virtual fence of home”. Also, customer support is great as we had to replace one each for our dogs due to a few issues. The only cons I see are…(1) band that holds to collar does not last as long as I feel they should, given we have large and active dogs. (2) I have a hard time at times getting it to LIVE track (3) the virtual fence can be off by several yards (like 20 or so which can be 60+ feet). All in all I would highly recommend to others despite the few minor cons.

Piece of garbage
Bought what should have been the highest quality one and after 14 months it will no longer charges. I spoke to them about their warranty and they offered to replace the unit, but then wanted me to pay shipping and import costs that would be more than the device itself. I will no longer be using this company and would avoid using them.

Love your dog? Get it now!
Best device we have ever purchased for our Black Lab. I got it in 2024, it's worked flawlessly for over 15mths! Never failed all over the UK on holidays, travels! Our boy likes to swim and typical boystrous Lab bounding around in the forests etc and not once has it stopped working or fallen off! Totally waterproof! (See video) He swims and splashes whilst wearing it most days! I got the XL for our 4yr old Lab. Easy to fit and pair with the app. Extremely well made and comfortable on his collar! Only once, by human error, after wiping him down I left the collar and tracker on a bench, I used the app and it took me straight back to it. Love your dog or cat? Just buy one! For the small monthly cost, the peace of mind feeling is awesome, especially on holidays or in strange places! I cannot recommend this device highly enough!

Watch the weight of the unit
Very heavy unit for a dogs neck.. returned it, might be ok for a bull mastiff or rottie but not ours.
