Replacing my old skates from the 90's and just getting back into skating. I wear a size nine and ordered 9's and they fit like gloves. Minimal break in just had to snug the trucks up to my liking. Blown away with the quality for the price.

I’ll start by saying I had to order 3 pairs of these to get one I could skate. I started at size 10 because I wear a 10.5/11 and Amazon said they are true to size. That was the first problem. The size 10 was at least a size and half too large. So I got a 9. It comes and fits better but boots are far too narrow. The next problem was that the threads in the left boot for the toe stop were cut so poorly that I couldn’t even remove the jam plug without a tool. I got it out and saw the threads were visibly cut wrong. My feet are slightly wider than average at the widest point. Now comes the next problem, massive hot spots that are strangling the big joint on the inside of my foot and also on the outside. It’s squeezing my toes so hard after a quick skate session I thought my feet were going to be bleeding. The only way I could make them bearable was by loosening them so much they feel unstable. I am not overweight and skated for many years as a kid and wanted to get back into it. My old skates were Riedell 395 in a size 8.5 or 9. On the plus side these skates look nice and the plates are pretty decent. The wheels are too hard and take too long to break in, the axle nuts were tightened too tight and almost crushing the bearings so I loosened them up so they could spin but still wouldn’t spin more than a few rotations so I replaced them with Bones Reds. Much better but the wheels still slide too much on a wood floor. They are taking forever to break in as I’ve skated them for 3 hours at speed while turning and attempting power slides. I’m going to return mine but you might have better luck if you have narrow feet and are a small person who can get away with a harder wheel indoors and don’t mind replacing the bearings with something of better quality. The ABEC7 they come with are either not real Abec rated or just garbage. The wheel hubs are also not non-deforming and will cause hang ups. These should be fine for a child or small woman of light weight. I’ve got a set of VNLA on order and if those don’t work out I’ll go back to Riedell.

The skate itself runs a half size too big. So if you’d prefer your skates to fit, go down a half size. Wish I could have seen that before getting these. Other than that, they’re really nice.
