These decorative lights are very good.They consist of two varnished copper wires that stay shiny and attractive - that both power the LED's and provide a framework for the lights to be distributed.The wire is strong - but I wouldn't use it to hold anything of weight, such as a vase - it's not meant for that.The LED's run up the length of the wires, and are soldered to both wires for power and fixed in place with a cloudy blob of glue that acts as a nice little defuser.If any one of the LED's is crushed, or damaged in some way - it does NOT effect the illumination of the others, as they are connected up like rungs on a ladder.There are around 8 modes of operation - Steady on, off, and many types of blinking and "light chasing" effects.All the effects can be selected by the little power box, or by the supplied remote control.One feature that I found ONLY on the remote control was the brightness +/- controls. When the LED's are set to on, and showing a steady light, pressing the brightness buttons on the remote increases/decreases the brightness.The brightness is controlled by PWM (pulse width modulation) where the LED's are flicked very fast to control their brightness.The LED's are powered from the little control box by 3 x AAA batteries which will last several hours, and which is water-resistant. It's ok to get an occasional splash or spill - but will break if you submerge it into water.I've hacked mine up - the 3 x 1.5 volts is 4.5v, which can be comfortably driven by a 5V USB power supply and a bit of soldering, which makes this a permanent display for the living room!Obviously doing this will void your warranty - but if you are especially happy with your lighting set up, it's possible.Great little decoration for my front room - like a night light and a decorative item that keeps the deep shadows away from the corner of the room. Excellent!

These lights are great for Christmas and also for all round use. When I opened them I was glad to find that they were very long and able to change shape as they are mounted on a bendy metal. I have placed them under my bed and around the top of it to give it that ambient feel. The battery pack is useful as you dont have to find a power source for them and they can be placed anywhere. The waterproofing on them also enables outdoor use (christmas decorations). We have put another set of these on the outside and shaped them to spell out words. The remote control makes controlling these very easy and can be turned on and off from inside the house by the window.Another great thing is that the end of the lights don't connect back to the power box and make a circle but this runs on a parallel circuit which is better as youre not limited to the different shapes you want to create.If you lose the remote there is a manual button on the battery box which allows you to also change between the different settings

The lights are delightful. They are very discrete, the line is long and the light is warm. My remote doesn't work, but I would have bought them even without the remote so I still give a 4 *I hope the case for the batteries is well sealed, as it would be a shame if it rusted.

The wiring is very strong and durable yet very inconspicuous, which means that your entire visual focus is directed at the warm glow from the LED bulbs. The string lights attach to a power pack, which simply needs batteries to operate. The 20m length pretty much ensures that they can be placed in any room regardless of size. I currently have the lights decorating my living room, which has really heightened my family's excitement for Christmas :) :) :) There are also suitable for outdoor use, which I cannot wait to utilise once the warmer weather is upon us!!! :) :)Fabulously pretty lights and great value for the money too - really couldn't ask for more!!! They look lovely but I bought them because they have a timer function but the instructions are terrible and I can’t work out how the timer works. There is a timer button on the remote control but it doesn’t seem to do anything. So I will continue to trudge to the end of the garden every night to turn them off :(

Lovely lights, really bright and longer than I was expecting! Really like the warm tone you get with the copper, although they're slightly less yellow than the image would suggest. Great product though, hopefully will last for ages!
