It sticks to the poo and removes the odour and also dries it out. This means you can easily remove the soiled bits. The urine tends to go down through the litter into the bottom. Again, it doesn't smell. Depending on the number of cats I find that one bag lasts about 2 - 3 weeks for one cat and at the end I just remove all the litter (urine soiled included) and start with a new bag. BUT!!!! Not all cats like to use it. I found my last two cats were perfectly fine on this litter but my current cat did not like it. So as with any litter I would say try a bag and see how you go. It definitely was the best litter I have ever used for odour control and ease of use. **Q: is this made of 100% silica gel?** A: I believe so. **Q: is this made of 100% silica gel?** A: Yes. Great stuff. **Q: Has anyone changed there cat from cat litter to crystals did you have any problems with the cat ?** A: No problem at all changing to crystals with my Maine Coon, but my friend had a few teething problems with her girl and had to mix litter and crystals, gradually adding more crystals until the complete change over had been made. Crystals aren't exactly eco friendly to say the least, but they are an absolute boon to the cat owner! As long as the poo is taken out daily, the litter lasts at least a week with no mess and no smell. I haven't changed the litter for just over a week and a half just to test it. Cats were still happy to use it and still no smell.Today one of the cats have decided no more and tbh when I went to the litter it started to smell but my apartment still smells fine so if your looking for a litter to help with smell I can suggest this.I have noticed that the litter has started to pool at the bottom also which I read other reviews had stated but it has took a week and a half to get to that point. You can also swirl the litter around and keep it fresh to get maximum usage. I was looking for an alternative to fit litter as that litter is out of my budget but sounded really good and this is it. I am really happy with this product. This product will do around 2 litter changes depending on litter box size.Highly recommend ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t recommend this enough!! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 2 July 2023* I have been using this litter for nearly a year now and can 100% say i’ll never use another type again.I’ve got two cats and for 2+ years and we’ve tried clumping, non clumping, wood pellets, litter freshener, you name it and always had a number of issues. I have one extremely picky and clean cat who refuses to use the litter box if there’s even a hint of it being smelly or unclean and no amount of scooping fixed the smell. I used to spend £40+ each month on litter and have to do complete litter changes every second day, and if you didn’t scoop it in time he’d leave little presents all over the house.With this litter there isn’t a single hint of a bad smell or a rogue ‘gift’ on the carpet and even with two cats who constantly use it. You could sit right next to the thing and you’d never notice it was there. I don’t have to do a litter change for 2, 3, even 4 weeks, so a single bag lasts us well over a month! Poo is poo so if it’s left in there for too long of course it will smell a little, but as long as you scoop the box at least one or two times a day you’ll be all set. I genuinely cannot recommend this litter enough, it may not work for everyone but it’s been a total lifesaver for me and my two, they’re happier, cleaner and a lot less smelly! Only issue is it does track a little, but no more than any other litter i’ve tried, so it can’t be faulted for that.But if you have issues with a smelly litter box or a hyper-picky cat, I 100% recommend giving this a try. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 11 August 2023* It’s great, it works, lasts for around 2-3 weeks per litter tray, but it definitely is not the cheapest stuff! It depends on how much you pour into the tray and how big your tray is. It still tracks albeit much less than clumping litter and perhaps non-clumping catsan too. A litter mat might help with this. It’s still a bit dusty but is low dust compared to others. The crystal is good with absorbing the pee. But odour control isn’t the best - maybe use a litter freshener. I heard that this isn’t great for cats to breath in, so perhaps it is something to keep in mind.
