No, they aren't assembled. But these bee boxes come with pre-drilled holes so that you can assemble the hive very easily. Pre-cut dovetail joints are also easy to assemble.

Are the foundations waxed?

Yes, the plastic foundation sheets are 100% beeswax dipped. Bees will prefer beeswaxed frames.
