Slightly small but I got quite a few so can use more than one. They do hold back a serious amount of heat!

My previous heat mat was getting to the point of needing replacement and so when I spotted a double pack of these with the centre split to allow them to be wrapped around a pipe joint whilst soldering, it seemed like an excellent deal.Well you know what they say about something being too good to be true, and this unfortunately is the case with these pads. Whilst technically they "might" be heat resistant to 1200 degrees, they have no insulating properties whatsoever, so that 1200 degree heat is going to go right through and cook whatever is behind it, as I found out when I liquified a solder joint on a pipe under the pipe I was actually soldering.The pads are extremely thin, and this is the problem with them as there is no mass to stop heat transferring from one side to the other. Even using both of them at the same time proved inferior to my old (and better quality) heat mat, so these unfortunately will be going in the bin.

Not all the material is fire resistant. If you get any heat near the edges it melts the threads and then the whole sheet starts to unravel. Don't waste you money.

Useless for soldering pipes. burnt through on first use and scorched the wall covering

Heat mat does not work, burn straight through first time using it, causing to burn wall paper on a job!
