The Perfect Day
For my sons 7th birthday we rented out the skating rink and all his friends showed up. Sonic was the theme, of course, and we had a decent sonic playlist. He already had the Sonic plushie so today was extra special. He skated for what felt like hours, while i struggled to stay on my feet. Everyone was really enjoying themselves. When time came to open his presents, the Green Hill zone down tempo mix came on. Actually one of my favorite songs from the game, and an unreasonably good song from the movie. He opened the knuckles present and exclaimed KNUCKLES!!! Then looked at me saying THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER! It took every bit of me to keep it together. Ill never forget that moment. Sonic, Knuckles and now Shadow are his favorite plushes that stay on or near his bed. Nothing makes me happier than getting to share one of my most treasured childhood favorites with my son and watching him get as excited as i did when i was young.
