Works well with dimmable lightbulbs
Works well with dimmable lightbulbs. No noise or flickering. Easy to fit

Works great, the flickering had now stopped
This has replaced the old dimmer switches. Prior to changing to these the lights were flickering a lot. Bulbs were changed etc, then the thought was to change the switches- no more flickering now. They look fine.

(Almost) no more buzzing from the light fitting
I initially put a cheap EverReady dimmer switch in my office to control the main dimmable LED bulb that lights the room. The buzzing sound emitted from the light fitting was intolerably loud unless the light was on full. At the time I didn't know that you need a specific type of dimmer for dimmable LEDs. After some research I found that the best option was a trailing edge dimmer, and settled on this one specifically advertised as being compatible with low wattage LEDs.This switch has almost eliminated the buzzing entirely. It is still there but it is not really audible to me unless I sit in silence and really try to listen out for it. I am using a Philips B22 dimmable bulb, similar to model number 8719514323872 but rated for 7.5W 806lm (I think the bulb I have is discontinued now). The switch was very easy to install, and I am actually really happy with the faceplate. It is made from Bakelite (or something like it) rather than Nylon or whatever they're usually made of. It has a very nice subtly textured matte finish to it and a much nicer feel than the usual plastic switches. The two white plastic plugs that hide the screws are a nice touch too.I reluctantly knock 1 star off only because the buzzing is still present, albeit incredibly quiet. I suppose this could be to do with the wiring in my house, the light fitting or the bulb itself and it is so quite it's basically inaudible unless you try to hear it. Consider it a 4.5 star review.

Great value for money.
At 1/3rd the price of similar item from most DIY stores, this is fantastic value for money. easily fits to a standard switch back box. easy to wire in. No issues with this items manufacture or delivery, definitely recommendedone note of caution, note on paper the cables positioning in your old switch before undoing them, I didn't and got interrupted after taking off the old switch and connected to the new one in wrong order, took another 2 attempts to get the correct sequence. if its a single light switch for one light, that might not matter, but where you have 2 different switches, you really need them wired the correct way round.

Very poor quality faceplate
The switch/dimmer itself works fine, no complaints there. The face plate however is of very poor quality. It has 2 earthing connectors attached to the back, poorly soldered right next to where the fixing screws go. Since the whole face plate is metal, it doesn't matter which of the two you use. As I was screwing in the earthing wire to one of them, the solder broke off and it just came off the faceplate with barely any force applied. I thought that maybe it was just a one-off defect, so I tried the other one. Yet, the same thing happened again with the other one. In the end I had to solder one of them back to the faceplate myself and this time it didn't come off. Eventually, I had it all installed but then I realised that the faceplate got some very fine scratches just by handing and installing it, even though I had been extra careful not to scratch it. Very poor quality indeed.

Much deeper than the one I am replacing
Looks ok but the switch was loose and needed tightening up before I could fit it.Replacing a dimmer switch that had gone faulty but this switch is much deeper than the one I took off so I've had to order a spacer plate to fill the gap.Check before buying.
