TASSIMO Carte Noire Espresso Classico 16 T DISCs (Pack of 5, Total 80 T DISCs)

For those who are mourning the demise of Crema Intenso. Thankfully I still have around 100 pods of crema left so am saving those just for weekends, bought in bulk when the price started shooting up. Now the price of crema intenso has gone north of £40 for 80 pods its time to stop buying - although with deep regret.So bought this esspresso from carte noir to experiment with in my search for a suitable replacement for Intenso.Note I use 300ml coffe cups.Experiment 1Made a cup conventionally, and topped up to usual intenso cup level with the hot water function, then added hot milk as usual.Result was a cup of coffee with a minimal crema layer as you do sometimes get with a poor intenso pod. It was a smooth coffee and tasted not unlike intenso, but much blander. I think 2 pods in this situation would likely almost replicate the intenso experience, but then that would be defeating the object and it would cost the same as the current intenso price.Experiment 2Cut off the bar code from a used intenso pod and placed it over the barcode reader. My thinking that maybe the machine would pump to a higher pressure and temperature to give a more intense hit.Placed the esspresso pod over the top and hit start.It soon became obvious watching the coffee stream that the pod had run out of oomph and the machine was just issuing tan coloured hot water.Nevertheless, it filled the cup to the correct level and I added my usual hot milk.Again, the coffee had a minimal crema layer, although slightly more pronounced than the one produced in Exp 1, in fact after stirring it formed a dome in the middle of the cup ala crema intenso, however the layer was not long lasting.Again the taste was somewhat bland in comparison to the real deal, although it did have the same subtle smoky flavour and aftertaste that Crema Intenso produces.So to conclude, these pods produce a bland version of Crema Intenso and likely contain pretty much the same coffee blend, only less coffee grounds in the pod.Maybe the results would be better in a 200ml cup but I like to linger over my coffee for a while.Close but no cigar.The search continues. Maybe when the machine malfunctions I will replace it with nesspresso or the nescafe version and try those coffees.

It's coffee, what can I say? If you're buying these then you have a Tassimo T-Disc machine, so it's not like you can read my review and think "Oh, maybe these discs are not so great, I think I'll look for some OTHER Tassimo Espresso T-Discs" is it? But, I've decided to write a review for everything I've ever bought on Amazon, so I might as well give it a go.The discs fit really nicely into the machine. I mean, they're circular, the diameter is bob-on, seriously, these babies will drop into your hole with no problems at all.When your machine pumps hot water through one of these bad boys, it comes out tasting like coffee. Not cheese, or roast beef, or tarmac. Coffee. Nice and brown and coffee-like. Yum.What's the downside? Well they're expensive, aren't they? Really, even bought in bulk, it's a lot to pay for a brew. Not only that but each one is made of a big lump of plastic - think about your carbon footprint, man! You're destroying the planet!Four stars.

Sincerely I never was a big fan of coffee... but... it turned out I can't live a day without coffee. It took me awhile till I found coffee that suit my taste buds :) I regret only one thing, that I spent so much money trying different coffees, but you'll never know if you won't try. I am very happy I found Tassimo, we bought coffee machine too and I was afraid the coffee pods will be expensive but the price was very sensible especially if you subscribe for Tassimo coffee pods. I really love the product and variety of coffees Tassimo offers. I tried many, but my favourite is Carte Noire Espresso Classico - roasted and ground coffee which is strong and rich, that is what I need in the morning. and it's really easy to use and no mess.It came well packed, five well sealed packs containing 16 pods in each of them, so 80 pods in total. You should store it in dry and cool place. It is also suitable for Vegetarians, Halal, Kosher, Fairtrade.It's wxclusively for the Tassimo system so don't try it with any other coffee machines.

Having never been a big espresso drinker before, I was a little worried as to how I would react to the more intense flavours it carries when compared to regular coffee. Now that I have tasted these espressos I can safely say my worries were needless. This really is an excellent coffee with a wonderful aroma, flavour and even aftertaste. If you like your coffee strong this would be a great choice. The beauty of these espressos is you arent just limited to espressos, you can use them to make virtually any kind of coffee you like (if you have the know-how). Personally, if I'm not in the mood for a quick caffeine hit, I just add a little more hot water and milk after the espresso is finished dispensing and turn it into a good old-fashioned brew. It really is lovely. And for the value, I cant recommend it enough.

I need a coffee in the morning just to get me going and I absolutely love this espresso from Tassimo.Tassimo users don't need me to tell them how easy it is to get a coffee but what you might not yet know is that this 'classic' is what you would probably get in Italy, rich, full-bodied and has a flavour that I love.And here's a thing: you don't have to drink it as an espresso! My wife hates espressos, but likes this coffee when added to the Tassimo milk (for their latte, for example) as it has that powerful flavour that is not diluted out via the milk.I've got this on repeat order now as I am totally hooked. Superb!
