I bought this smaller mat for my female dog who likes to sleep on my bedroom floor At night but was suffering from the heat. This mat is pretty and the right size for my dog but the cooling part is not a comfy gel like my larger mat. It seems to have hard, uncomfortable grains in it which my dog understandably will not lay on. They are very hard and sharp to the point where I think they will tear through the outer covering. I do not recommend this mat.
