Review: Endless Fun and Imagination - I cannot say enough good things about this Grocery Store! My three year old absolutely loves his grocery store, and it has quickly become his favorite playtime activity. The quality is great it's incredibly sturdy and well made. Assembly was surprisingly easy. I was able to put it together in about an hour, and the instructions were simple to follow. Once set up, it looked just like a real mini grocery store, complete with a checkout counter, scanner, and shelves. What really makes this special is how it encourages creativity and role-playing. My little one loves grabbing his grocery cart, filling it up with all his play food, scanning items at the checkout, and then heading to the kitchen to cook his purchases. It's the perfect way to teach him about shopping, counting, and even social skills as he takes turns being the cashier and the customer. Melissa & Doug always deliver high-quality, thoughtful toys, and this one is no exception. If you're looking for a toy that keeps kids engaged, sparks their imagination, and provides endless entertainment
Review: Spend the Extra Few Dollars—This One Is Worth It! - Melissa & Doug never disappoints! I purchased two of these Fresh Mart grocery stores for the dramatic-play areas in our preschool’s 2K and 3K classrooms. The quality is noticeably better than other brands of dramatic-play furniture we have purchased. The sturdy material feels durable enough for frequent classroom use, and the size works well for young children while providing plenty of shelves and play space. The bright colors, realistic scanner, cash register, and overall grocery-store appearance make pretend play especially inviting. It is substantial furniture rather than a highly portable toy, but it can still be repositioned within the classroom when needed. If you are choosing between this set and another that costs only a few dollars less, go with this one. The durability and quality make it an excellent value for the money!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do your kids actually still play with it? How often?**
A: I bought this for my GGrands. When they are over they love to play with it. My 9 yr. Old plays with it if he thinks no one is watching. All 6 of them have loved this Grocery store. It is also very sturdy.

**Q: What size batteries are needed?**
A: Yes you need 2AA batteries for the scanner to beep and light up and the calculator to work... but it can be used without batteries too just won't beep or light up when scanned.

**Q: Does the card swiping machine make noise?**
A: It does not make noise powered by a battery. However, it does come with a “credit card” that you may swipe. The ridges on the card make a slight noise.

**Q: Are the two pieces attached or can they be displayed side by side?**
A: Hi! The Grocery Store is assembled in an L-shape. The pieces may not be displayed separately.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Totally satisfied
*by G***E on December 19, 2025*

I had some anxiety about putting this together but once I got started I actually had fun. The instructions was the best I've ever used and I've assembled a lot of things. With these instructions they made assembly so easy and to me it was fun. It took me several hours to assemble it because I didn't have my husband who usually hekp and I had only a hand screw driver ( battery powered drill will be much faster). My confidence was busted once I had finished assembling it and everything worked as it should. Tbe only complaint is that the screw to open the battery case is small. I had to go to Walmart to get a eye glass repair kit to get a screwdriver that small. That's my only complaint. I hope the Melissa and Doug kitchen set I got has instructions just like this has. My husband and I only have one grandchild we are 53 and 56 so she have us all to herself and wa to for nothing. This Christmas I'm redoing her room for her Christmas gift. It will be the Melissa and Doug Kitchen and grocery store all the Melissa and Doug food for the kitchen and store, money for the cash register, purse set, twin baby dolls, high chair, play pin and food for the babies and life size Ellsa and friend wall stickers and 2 Olaf life size stickers. Sorry for over sharing I'm a proud Nana. Anyway this product is a must have.
