Will this system fit please?** A: Hi Anne They should fit fine, The only issue I have with them is that the kayak is very close to the side of the car when lifting it I have bent my bar as it is aluminium and have got a longer bar made out of steel so when I lift kayak it is further away from the car **Q: How is the sliding bar secured after you have loaded the kayak?** A: A spring loaded button goes into a hole which retains the extension bar either fully in or fully out. **Q: Does that end bit stay up or does it fold flat.. That’s not the bit that scratches the kayak, it stops the kayak sliding off the end when it’s lifted. I found that the bar itself was scratching the kayak, quite badly actually.
