Feature: ☆countersinking is a two-step process: pilot hole first, followed by the countersink. It’s effective, but time consuming. However, a wide variety of combination countersinks do both tasks at the same time. ☆The most important thing to keep in mind when using a countersink is to match the size correctly to the screw being used. A too-large countersink will swallow the head of a screw in what will look like a moon-sized crater; A too-small countersink won’t fit the screw head, and forcibly driving the screw in can tear the wood fibers around the countersink. ☆If you don’t drill the countersink deep enough, the screw will remain proud of the surface; go too deep and the screw will seat too shallow. Smaller ones do the job if you are careful not to drill a bigger hole with them, the larger ones make a mess
Only tried these in pine so far with a 20v battery drill, however with pine being the most popular wood around the average shop give this a read.These are all basically just slightly twisted philips head screwdrivers in larger sizes (in any similar product for the most part) but these could use more twist or another tweek.The smaller ones do make a decent countersink however it is very easy to go too deep in the soft wood and just make a larger drill hole. The larger bits just make a mess. The larger sized ones in this set still only have 4 "ridges" i would call them, which has huge gaps in between each one. So when they spin they just bounce around in your hole rather than bore it out. When you are done you have a square with rounded corners rather than round finish divot. If the larger ones had maybe 6 or 8 ridges, almost like an allen or torx wrench, or were more twisted (S-shaped ridges) i think that would leave much smoother holes. That being said, a high power corded drill might leave smoother holes, but you would have to be super careful not to drill too deep. This could all very well be an issue with any comparable version of these, but I only have experience with this set.

Not actually sharp
Clearly just cast bits with gold coating. The edges are not machined so they are rounded and dull right out of the package. I only had to counter sink a couple of holes in plywood so I didn't want to spend money on proper bits. These hardly got through the wood and the lack of sharpness allowed them to walk as the burned the wood away.

Not quality bits...
These are not quality drill bits at all! They came dirty like they were pulled out of a drawer and sent.

Terrible product. I would return it
Came in a small baggie with a lot of metal dust, darkened, definitely not as bright as what's pictured. Tested out the 1/2 inch on would... it mashed the would rather than cut it. Tried the 1/4 inch on steel, wouldn't bite and therefore would not counter sink. Terrible product. I would return it, but its been 30 days past. Definitely would not recommend to anyone.

Great product
Definitely surprised how well these countersinks work I figured for the priced they wouldn’t last long but they are built of quality and durability and get the job done. Definitely would recommend you giving them a try.

I been looking for something like these for a long time. They are great for making sink holes for screws. And one thing for sure you don't need to worry about breaking them the are well made.

Dull quickly
I'm surprised by the generally high ratings. My set is very dull. I understand you don't want them to bite too aggressively and drill a hole rather than a countersink, but I'm really having to press down hard in some pretty soft woods to get enough of a divot for the screw head.
