A worthwhile guide to an incredible destination
Used this on a trip last year. Absolutely recommend. Very useful before going to help identify and prioritize places of interest, travel times, and travel options. I went with my SO who had been to Barcelona before and we stayed with a friend who has lived there for years. Could I have gone without this? Sure. But I felt so much more comfortable and confident having spent some time with Rick ahead of our travel. Worth it!

Our go-to travel guide is always Rick Steves!
Rick Steves is hands down the gold standard in European travel. We love the pocket guides because they fit in a front pocket of a backpack and are not too heavy, but have all the information when we’re traveling. We all have phones and Wi-Fi when we’re traveling internationally but our phones are always low on battery and it’s nice when you’re sitting down in a café or in the hotel at night do you open up the book circle everything you want to do the next day, and bring that book with you on the go! The maps are terrific! Rick Steves comes along with us on every European trip we take. We just did three weeks in Europe this summer went to multiple countries purchased several of the pocket guides and they were so helpful! Even in Venice, a City, where we’ve been before we loved having this pocket guide with. Each night we would sit on the rooftop of our hotel in Barcelona with a glass of wine and ill Rick Steves travel guide and we would plan the next day. Now that we’re back from our trip, we put the guides which are small on a side table in our living room. We refer to them to remind ourselves of our trip guests pick them up and look through them and it’s a conversation starter for where we’ve been on our travels. Don’t hesitate. Rick Steves is always a no-brainer when traveling to Europe!

Barcelona: Worth a visit...
Those enterprising travelers old enough to remember the original Dream Team and their exploits at the 1992 Olympics were also treated to some of the sights and sounds of the host city, Barcelona. Barcelona has a slightly different history and flavor than the rest of Spain, a difference much celebrated by its residents. That flavor is previewed in this excellent new Rick Steves Pocket Guide. Barcelona offers a variety of cultural experiences as a city that is both ancient and modern. It boasts Roman ruins and an excellent museum dedicated to Picasso. Its downtown areas offer long walks through fascinating neighborhoods, and meals based on the unique local cuisine. As aways with Rick Steves, read the whole guide before making any hard plans. There are lots of good suggestions on what to see and where to eat and sleep. There are some excellent hints on how to handle a bustling city. The book includes a detachable and very useful walking map. Very well recommended to the enterprising traveler.
