The most versatile, capable and easiest to fly RC airplane yet.Whether you've never flown RC before or you got your first taste of flying with a multirotor drone, the revolutionary Carbon Cub S+ is the most versatile, capable and easiest to fly RC airplane yet. Based on the Carbon Cub by Cub Crafters, an upgraded and thoroughly modern iteration of the classic Super Cub, and equipped with Horizon Hobby's exclusive and innovative SAFE Plus GPS-enabled drone technology, this scale reproduction makes it easier to learn to fly in less time than ever before.SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) TechnologyBeginner, Intermediate and Experienced Modes: gives pilots the option to limit pitch and bank angles for just the right amount of control to suit their skillsAutoLand: after simply holding down a button, advanced AutoLand function puts the Carbon Cub S+ on a stabilized approach to autonomously land near the GPS initialization pointHolding Pattern: after the quick press of a button, the airplane will automatically return to a position above the GPS initialization point and circle until the command is cancelledVirtual Fence: creates an invisible boundary the airplane won't fly past. When the airplane reaches this boundary, it will automatically turn around and fly back toward the GPS initialization pointPanic Recovery: automatically returns the airplane to level flight when you switch to Beginner Mode and release the control sticksOversized Tundra TiresThick grass, gravel paths, dirt trails - Tundra wheels can tackle these and many other surfaces that would be impossible for most models of this size to handle.Optional Flaps and Floats (Sold Separately)The functional flaps are an option for impressive short-field takeoff and landing performance. This feature requires a 7+ channel computer transmitter (SPMR8000, sold separately), a flap servo (PKZ1090, sold separately), and a servo extension (PKZ5403, sold separately). You can also turn your Carbon Cub S+ into a float plane with the optional Hobbyzone Float Set (HBZ7390, sold separately). Installation takes just a few minutes.Ready-to-Fly (RTF) :Includes everything you need to get started! Great RC plane
I bought this RC plane about 3 weeks ago and flew it every weekend. First time to fly an RC plane. Here is my experience.* The beginner mode is really helpful. I was able to land the plane in my first flight without causing any damage. Basically you only need to reduce the throttle to zero and release the control. The plane will just land itself. Of course you need to find a big open place so that the plane will not hit any objects during its straight line descending. The SAFE+ technology is really great. The GPS feature enables virtual fence which will bring back the plane if it flies too far away. Based on my research, only 3 models have such feature. This is the main reason I bought this model rather than other models (e.g., E-flite Apprentice S 15e with SAFE) which are more powerful but don’t have such feature.* The plane was pretty durable. I crashed it twice. The first time was when I tried auto landing. It was a windy day. Once auto landing was triggered, the plane flew in the same direction of the wind because it would fly back to against the wind to land. The plane flew away so fast (I thought it was mainly due to the wind). I was scared and I tried to brought it back. But the altitude was not high enough. The plane crashed into a tree. Fortunately it just got some scratches on the wings. The second crash was my kid’s first flight. He flew it not high enough in the same windy day. When he tried to make a turn by banking to one side, he didn’t give enough throttle. The plane dropped its altitude. Also due to wind, my kid didn’t have enough time to direct the plane away from the houses. The plane crashed into somebody’s backyard. Magically nothing was broken. The lessons that we learned:** Not to fly it during windy days when we are still beginners.** Keep the plane far away from objects so that we have room to make mistakes.** Give more power during turns because banking the plane will drop the altitude a bit.* Lastly the plane was pretty efficient. The official fly time is 6 minutes. With medium throttle, I can fly the plane almost 15 minutes with the stock 1300 mah battery. With a 2200 mah battery, I can fly almost 25 minutes. The battery bay was big enough to put in a voltage alarm and the 2200 mah battery and maybe even bigger batteries.

Not flight worthy
Do not waste your money. The flight controls and wings are all formed from one piece of styrofoam ie their isn’t a actual hinge the foam is compressed to create a hinge joint. The same with the hinges for the rudder and elevator. Mine broke before I even got to fly it.

Unbelievable technology.
I am a first time flyer. After many hours spent searching for a plane that I thought gave me the best chance for success at flying, I decided to buy the Carbon Cub S+.Although I was a little intimidated by its size, with a 51” wingspan, I read all of the instructions , over and over until I felt I was ready to try it out. With the GPS set, in beginner mode, I took off for my first flight ever.Unbelievable! I was flying it like I knew what I was doing. What a joy.I briefly toggled through the skill modes and saw the amount of control I had at each level. Then I hit the auto land button and sat back and watched the plane take control and come in for an amazing landing.I repeated the same flight plan several times and had the same results. Awesome.Zero complaints. Total satisfaction.Thank you.

fun airplane and looks great
I purchased this plane after frustrating experience with gas powered balsa wood plane many years ago. Very easy to build in about an hour. Manual is good but I had to go over it many times to get all the features in my head. Finally made a flight chart on my own. HAVE crashed it two times with minor damage as it is tougher than it looks. I fly on my own land, but have trees and fences a bit too close for the first flights. BEST feature is the perimeter fence- as I tend to let a plane get too far away. This plane will turn back and wag at you if you let it get too far! Worst feature is the velcro battery harness- strap is positioned where it wont tighten, and the piece you stick on the battery fastened so tight that it pulled the Velcro off the plane battery tray the second time I pulled the battery out! I wish the flight time was more than 5-6 min..I bought two additional batteries so when I fly I can use it more. Also, don't bother with the grey wheel faring pieces as mine broke the first nose over takeoff- they are just for looks anyway. I love the ease of the electric motors compared to gas motors. Maybe I'm not real coordinated but flying RC airplanes takes practice and this plane will help...

Prolly Should have obtained experienced help
Despite comprehensive manual there was one step that was a little vague and gave me a lot of difficulty. Two missing screws. Awfully flimsy bottom rudder hinge. Extremely easy to dent this foam! At this price they definitely should have included the flaps and proper radio. The inner bushings for the main landing gear wheels will have to be held in place by something like fingernail polish. The first time i removed the battery the velcro detached from the aircraft. Start watching YouTube videos on how to repair foam aircraft😎

Amazingly easy beginner plane!
Have only flown this twice but this is basically my first larger rc plane and so far really love this plane. It is very very easy to set up and fly. I cannot recommend this plane enough especially for the cost. You will not find a better beginner plane at this price!

Great flying RC airplane
This is an excellent first RC airplane with everything included for $300. The SAFE flight control makes it easy to fly for the beginner in mode 0 with "holding pattern", "fence" and "autoland". After you have gained confidence in flying you can change modes and fly fully manual. Setting the flight control system up is a little complicated and I found the instructions lacking. The internet has plenty of discussion on the short comings of the instructions that are included with the model airplane. The model looks great, flys very well, and the SAFE flight control system is very functional.
