The complete Harvard classics at a fantastic price
Who would’ve thought? The entire Harvard Classics in one volume at the amazing price of $.99 After purchasing this, I was pleased to be able to read any of the volumes of the with an easily accessible table of contents. I wish I had found this years ago, as it would’ve saved much time searching on the Internet for individual volumes of the Harvard Classics. I look forward to enjoying these on my Kindle. This truly a book lovers dream!

Alittle wiser, my views and understanding expanded.
After reading this I immediately played 14 games of chess in under 3 hours and won them all, I solved world hunger, self driving vehicles, and eliminated fake news and budget deficits. In all honesty its worth the time to read over though it really is amazing to see insight that still proves useful even now.

Lots of fun, and a cheap read
At the low price, even if you only read a couple parts it's worth it. I didn't have the TOC problems other people did. A good way to read all those things you "should" have read.

Table of Contents is useless, otherwise a steal for the price
I've been in the market for a cheap edition of the Harvard Classics ever since Aeterna Press decided to censor entire volumes from the edition I bought from them a few years ago. Yes, that's right...they actually removed content in an update because as a Catholic publisher they felt it wasn't proper to feature works by Darwin, Voltaire, etc. It was a move that seemed to defeat the purpose of the Harvard Classic as the tool of a liberal education it was originally designed to be. If I'd been given the opportunity I would have returned it for a refund and the only reason I didn't press that was because the thing only cost two or three dollars so what the hell. I made it a priority to replace it as soon as another publisher picked up the gauntlet.Delphi Classics is set to release their own compilation of the Classics and I will buy that even though I've already purchased this Eirann Press version simply because they are the best budget classic literature e-publisher in the business, I probably have 50 of their books at least, and I want to support them. Perhaps their edition will include the original introductions and notes compiler Charles Eliot. This Eirann Press compilation of the Harvard Classics does not contain the aforementioned extracurricular material but then again neither have any of the HC e-books I've seen. For now it's basically a library of the works on their own...which is fine, everyone should have the opportunity to read the material in these volumes, but the annotations, introductions and such are what gave Harvard Classics collection their novelty as well as their effectiveness, as a whole, in the procuring of a "higher learning" experience. The chief issue I have with the Eirann Press version is the table of contents. It only lists the volume numbers without offering the pertinent information of title/subject or author. This is a strange oversight in a collection of 51 volumes, not counting the 20 volumes of fiction that are included. For example, instead of saying "Harvard Classics Vol. 10: Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith" it says "Harvard Classics, Vol. 10". I would certainly understand why this would be a dealbreaker for many people but for 99 cents it will do me just fine until the Delphi edition is released.Other than the contents page everything looks fine, but that reason alone is enough for me to dock it's potential 5 star rating down to 4. Eirann would do well to modify the table in a future update.

Love it!
Love it! I wish there was a way to download each volume separately instead of the whole library at once, but I do love having all these great works at my fingertips.

heck of a bargain
This is 50 volumes of high-quality reading. True, the choices are a century old and some would no longer be included in the same list compiled in 2018. But many would.

A wealth of wisdom and literature for less than the price of a newspaper.
In this incredible collection of classic literature you will find works by Plato, Epictetus, Milton, Emerson, Saint Augustine, Thomas a Kempis, Sophocles, Euripides, Cicero, Adam Smith, Charles Darwin, Plutarch, Virgil, Cervantes, Dante, and much much more, plus novels by Fielding, Dickens, Jane Austen, Victor Hugo, Tolstoy, Turgenev, Dostoevsky, and more. To have all of this to carry around with you wherever you go, and dip into it whenever you like is quite incredible. The only drawback is the absence of an overall index, so you will need to write out your own and keep it with your Kindle. But you really can't complain at such a wealth of wisdom for so little money.
