Rancilio 58mm Backflush Disk; Blind Portafilter Basket

It's a piece of metal. Water can't flow through metal. Not sure what else to say about this product. It works well to stop the flow of water to then backflush the espresso machine.

I purchased this basket because it was reasonably priced. I was glad for the no-frills packaging and for the backet's sturdy build. On my Rancilio Silvia the basket is not quit deep enough for the basket spring to hold the basket in place. Just beware or your cleaning process might get messy: the last thing you want is Cafiza spilling and messing up surfaces. Issue #2 is that the rim of the basket is a little higher. Due to this, I cannot turn the portafilter handle to the position marked for fully locked. I stop turning the handle when it feels snug against the rubber gasket and have no issues, again though, beware so you don't overtighten and break things or ruin your gasket.

The lip on the filter was too large to fit properly in the Rancilio.Ordered the filter from the Rancilio store which fit exactly as it should.
