This is a nice mushroom powder. It comes in a little pouch with only 8 servings but the cost also isn't too high. It mixes and dissolves well with little to no sediment or texture. With coffee it has a subtle taste change being a little more earthy. By itself mixed with a little water, I was surprised by the delicious flavor. It has a rich, sweet umami flavor that reminds me a little bit of chocolate. Medium brown in color and not see through.

I like adding this powder to a morning cup of hot cocoa. The flavor works well with chocolate.

I tried a teaspoon in my matcha drink and stirred it up. But it made it have an odd aftertaste to it, it’s hard to describe, closest term I can think of that might describe this is slightly bitter, it makes you have that sensation that you get when your mouth waters before having to throw up, that is the taste, so maybe not bitter. I wasn’t able to try it out long enough because of that incident, I’ve discontinued using it. It might be ok in coffee maybe and with less than a tsp.

Having tried another version of Kate's mushroom powder, which was made from ground up raw dehydrated mushrooms, I was nervous about trying this one. The other one that I tried contained a lot of chitin which imparts a very strong seafood shell flavor that I find practically inedible. Relieved to see that this is a powdered mushroom extract product, and there's barely a hint of that chitin flavor in this particular seven mushroom blend.I mix it in with my coffee and it has a bit of flavor but is not terribly overwhelming, especially if I make slightly stronger coffee than normal.I've not experienced any unpleasant or unexpected side effects from taking this supplement.

This blend has a healthy mix of mushrooms, which is why I ordered it. The powder can be sprinkled into savory foods without really affecting the taste (so if you don’t like mushrooms, don’t worry). I was hoping that this would impart a umami mushroom flavor to my rice or quinoa but it hasn’t. The flavor, when mixed with water only, has sort of grassy/hay taste, which is totally masked in savory foods. I was surprised there is added sugar is in the mix. Despite my disappointment at no umami flavor, I continue to use this healthy blend.

Great mix of organic mushrooms without any fillers or added junk. I already had Shiitake mushroom powder on hand to compare this to and it taste, looks & smells the same. I had done the math when I purchased it and 1 tablespoon powder equals 4 ounces fresh mushrooms. The package lists there are 8 servings at 1 tablespoon in this 2 oz package. 20 calories per tbsp.The dry powder has a slight earthy taste as expected. The back label suggests mixing a tablespoon with 4-6 ounces water but since I knew I would not like it that way I chose to sprinkle it on pasta with red sauce and could barely even notice it.If your looking to add the health benefits of mushrooms this is a nice mix and at a very reasonable price vs buying fresh.
