WORTH EVERY PENNY! Hours and hours of quiet fun for all of us.
WORTH EVERY PENNY! You won't regret buying this book! Whether you're a seasoned quiet book maker, or brand new (myself included), there's something for everyone: easy to follow instructions, pictures to help at each step, stress-free templates, variety of ideas, supplies list. The pages come together quickly with all your resources gathered (especially with the Gingher Applique scissors, they are heavenly). I'm looking forward to "Quiet Book Patterns II", when Amy has another collection of quiet book patterns to add to this one. I can't stop making pages! Both my 5 yr old daughter and 2 yr old son love the pages I've made so far, and interact with each page according to their development levels, such as make believe, telling stories, and patterning for the 5 year old, and saying names, sorting and matching for the 2 year old. Hours and hours of quiet fun for all of us! Thank you Amy!

Love it!!! Adorable pages!
I just got this in the mail. I'm so excited to make the pages! The book is laid out with how to get started, gathering supplies, instructions for pages, and how to finish the book. The designs are cute and creative - but simple enough for a novice like me. It includes a cd with the templates needed for all the designs. My toddler is going to love it when I'm done. She sat with me and we "read the story". She said the circus train is her favorite. I love all the learning activities: tying a bow, counting change, zippers, building robots, a maze, matching socks designs, drawing, weaving an oven mitt, matching shapes, using buttons, finger puppets, and finishing puzzles. I can't wait to get started! :-)

Great book, just worried about the quiet books staying together for a long period of time...
I like this book but I was not as impressed as I thought I would be. Don't get me wrong, I cannot wait to get started on a quiet book for my nephew. I just thought she would have more templates geared toward what is popular among children: farm animals, trucks, etc. The instructions are very easy to understand and the illustrations and pictures are wonderful. Only thing I was really indifferent about was that she tied her books together instead of binding them. I would think ribbon would eventually be torn (especially by my nephew lol) and the holes would get stretched and then eventually the book would fall apart. My suggestion is to add about a quarter inch in width to the material and sew the pages together with a seam in the middle. But maybe her kids aren't as rough as mine and don't tear things apart, I don't know! All in all she is very talented and I will be using most of her instructions and supplies!

Inspiring and informative!!
I have never considered making a quiet book before but this book has not only inspired me to make one, but has all the information I need to not only simplify the project but actually make it fun!! This book includes clear instructions and patterns for beautiful and unique pages...along with ideas for activities to do with the pages. It also includes printable images to use with some of the pages. If you're considering making a quiet book you can't go wrong with this book!

beautiful graphics, poor construction
I loved the pictures and patterns for each page. They're time consuming, but relatively easy. But the instructions for putting each page together are terrible. I could not get stick on velcro to work at all, I ended up having to rip it all off, and replace it with sew-in velcro. It's been sitting around for a few weeks and a few of the fused pieces are already starting to fall off, so I'll be going back to sew those on as well. The pages end up being pretty thick, so I could only put 10 pages in a book, which means I made two books total. So if you're looking for design templates, this is great, but use your better judgement and sew everything in.

Great Quiet Book Instructions.
Love this book of patterns. It contains great ideas for making a quiet book for a child who must be still at church or elsewhere. I have used some of the separate pages as games for the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. The felt road play mat and a couple of small toy cars make a good shoe box gift for a boy. Most pages are very easy to make using fusible web so there is no sewing involved. The book comes with a CD that has all the patterns on it. You can slip it into the laptop and print what ever patterns you want and they are full sized, no need to enlarge.

No patterns
I am very disappointed after receiving this book. There are no patterns in this Quiet Book Patterns book. There is a link to get them and print them. I am not able to do that.Unfortunate waste of money.

All you need to make a quiet book
This book is GREAT! The author has detailed instruction with the patterns, she explains all of the materials she uses so it's easy to make a list and go shopping, and her tips for making each page are included. Even with her examples, there is still room for me to be creative. There are many pages to choose from to make. I'm going to be making several of these for my grandchildren. Why re-invent the wheel?
