Great tone, good first low whistle
Great sounding whistle , but you need to use the piper’s grip due to the size , good price for a beginners first low whistle

It's plastic but it sounds great nice
Actually I like it ,tho the grip is bit hard, but you get used to it. and also if you have small fingers could be harder so it's better to buy a low whistle with slightly smaller holes .

A good starter low D, but not perfect
This is a good first low D whistle. It's relatively cheap and plays nicely. The sound is pleasant, very mellow and distinctively different from other whistles sizes, though it certainly isn't the nicest sounding low D you'll find. It takes a while to get used to the pipers grip and the various idiosyncrasies of this whistle. It is certainly less forgiving and other whistle sizes. The only enduring difficulty I've had is with the low D (all holes covered, blowing gently). This note sounds very weak, a bit raspy and is easy to overblow. Now I've got used to this whistle, I'm a confident enough whistle player to blame the whistle for this rather than my own playing. You also got to question paying this much money for a plastic tube with some holes in it. My Grandad used to make whistles from bits of tubing.

Nice sound, but slightly flat in pitch
This arrived very quickly. I already play the high D whistle from Tony Dixon, and I knew this would be different in terms of the finger stretch. The whistle is not that difficult to play, but the one I ordered was very slightly flat in pitch, and you cannot adjust this. I am going to return this and purchase a tuneable version, as this will annoy me when playing with a backing track or other musicians. It has a lovely sound. however.

Excellent low D whistle for the fair enough price
I have high D Tony Dixon and was hoping low D could be of the same quality - and I wasn't mistaken indeed! This is my first low D and I love it.

Good for a beginner
Good enough for beginners. It takes a time to get used to piper’s grip, but not too much. The only one “affordable” for a non professional amateur musician. Although I still think it could be cheaper for a plastic whistle. I hope it will last for a lot of time.

Poor tone/volume
I have large hands and my fingers are not particularly skinny so I don't have to much trouble with the pipers grip however consistently hitting low D is almost impossible without squeaks. I even tried taping the bottom hole. You can't blow this whistle for the first octave without distortion on E or worst D. Only by extreme controlled breathing can you sometimes get the note out smooth. I am binning this one and waiting till I can find a music shop where I can try an alternative. This is cheap enough but will put most people off the instrument.

It’s sounds great for a beginner. Excellent quality for the price. Well packaged. Looking forward to learning more on this great Low whistle, and perfecting the Piper’s grip.
